12.30 Very few of these have ever jumped a fence in anger so some may come forward while others go backwards. Most of these are returning from breaks, with no record of running well fresh. Astra Via ran a couple of good races last season off around this mark and on soft ground and the stable often improve runners when facing the larger obstacles .

The fav is the lightly raced and in form Jemima P but she returns from yet another break and soft ground an issue. In scartare’s last 11 races, he has come out with 5 2nds, 4 thirds , a 4th and a 5th , and has good form over C&D in the mud off this mark but he is 0 from 32 so another place likely , but hard to find who will frustrate him today .

1.30 Not a deep race and a chance is taken on the unexposed Arcade Attraction to double up on his win at Ffos Las on easy ground when well backed dropping in grade. He stays in the same grade today but has a hefty 10 pound penalty and faces softer ground . The Consistent Miss Amelia has no issues with ground or C&D and comes here in her usual good form, but is still on a testing mark .

2.00 Good Boy Bobby is a terrific racehorse and this bold front runner has 7 wins and 4 places on his CV from just 12 tries, his only unplaced run coming in his most recent start when running below par, but it was a hot race. He’ll be trying to run the finish out of these today but Winningseverything also front ran when putting in a career best run last time, so Bobby may be unsettled up front , not ideal for a pacesetter . Antunes began last season with a good hurdles win at wetherby when held up for a late charge, could have the race run to suit .

2.35 Guard Your Dreams won well last time, but the 2nd horse did little for the form next time , but this is uncompetitive and should be able to defy the penalty , but a shade of odds on to do so . The only danger is Percys word but he looks a bouncer today 2nd race back after a break .

3.40 Plenty of dark horses in this from good stables and the fav is Cathal’s Star, but not for me with a 10 pound penalty for a smart win at Sedgefield, but looks a bouncer 2nd race back from a long break and soft ground not his thing . The Newest One is closely related to one of the greats in recent years in The new One, and has been consistent if not spectacular . King D’Argent is with a top and in form stable with bits of form to make him of interest while general Probus did Ok last time , runs for a good stable and this longer trip will suit . Going for value.

3.25 A good quality Class 3 novice chase but I’m very much with the unexposed Liosdin Bhearna , who when last seen was a very impressive winner of a stayers handicap hurdle at Donny on easy ground , beating Blackjack Kentucjky by 6 lengths , and they renew rivalry on similar terms today . Both are effective on the ground , trip and going and both are trying fences for the first time and both should do well in this discipline as both have form in points , but the tip should again have the edge.

7.20 Harmonious has form here but over a much longer trip and was sold quite cheaply out of the good Martin Meade stable to Scott Dixon , whose runners aren’t going at all well , but the booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye . lover’s Moon has let her supporters down a few times at short odds and the good stable’s record here is only ok . Preference is for the lightly raced mountain dreams , a ready winner on debut then a good 3rd giving weight away to a couple of decent ones and on breeding the surface should suit.
