1.50 Bedford Flyer did well last time going with a strong pace in the York mud and only weakened late on finishing just behind Imperium Blue And Hey Mr , and has a pull in the weights and a slightly shorter trip, which is in his favour . He’ll try to make all but the usual cheekpieces are missing but could take some catching with Will Buick in the saddle . The lightly raced Fantasy Master goes for the hat-trick and has overcome slow starts to win well both times , the most recent over C&D in the mud, but is 6 pounds higher and the 2nd horse did little for the form next time out.

2.50 A very open small field stayers handicap and I’m prepared to overlook a rare bad one from the usually ultra reliable Orin swift , who finished tailed off behind Land Of winter in the Goodwood mud last time , but was entitled to run to form and go close. He did dispute too strong a pace that day and with a more prudent ride can give us a good run for out money at nice odds.

Selected Taunton – good to firm on this flat and sharp track
1.40 A big field for conditional jockeys and a lot of the riders do struggle for winners. The bang in form Knight Commander is improving and despite another 9 pound hit, is clearly thriving , but on paper would do well to win . Christopher Robin won well at this trip at Southwell and has held is form well since going up in trip and the young jockey had his moment of glory at the weekend riding a winner at Cheltenham/ Level Of intensity has a chance but looking at his profile is more likely to run a bad one than good while Hanadi is just 3 pounds higher for a good win last time ,but the drop in trip not ideal .

Dido is a reliable type and this hold up type will appreciate today’s longer trip .

4.15 A shocker of an opener and if you’re looking for recent winning form from any of these , you have to search hard, but Sparkling Diamond did land one 5 runs back , but is severely unfavoured by the weights on official ratings, but few of these are running anywhere near their marks. The possible exception is the once useful Aces who hasn’t been disgraced in far stronger races of late and worth a dabble .

This is not a deep heat and a clear chance can be given to the lightly raced Sharsted who after a couple of Ok efforts in turf maidens did as well as could have been expected when 3rd behind the useful Operatic and first Smile who sluiced in next time , the run coming over C&D. The only goncern is that the good stable of David Menuisier has a shocking record here , but is well drawn and the in form Jason Watson rides.
