2.40 Headman is clearly the one to beat at the weights but his only run this season wasn’t a great one at all and that was 4 months ago. The veteran Air Pilot is still a useful type and this former mulit group winner in the mud is still rated a lofty 104. He doesn’t race often nowadays but this is his ground and in 6 runs here has a win and 4 places !

3.15 Stormy Atlantic is the one to beat at the weights and is a mud lover , but last two runs were way below his best . There are question marks about most of these acting on the ground so worth trying the ex-French Graignes after his good 4th of 18 In the Ascot mud from a bad draw and an uninspirational ride.

3.50 the fav is the lightly raced Aspiration , but he only landed a modest maiden last time and looking at his profile , this could come a bit soon and also has stamina to prove . I much prefer the chance of the lightly raced kings knight only a pound higher for a good 2nd behind useful yardstick Captain whitehead at Lingfield on good ground and previously a winner at the stiff Beverley on soft ground, so conditions will suit this prominent and willing racer .

2.52 Quite a few prolific and reliable types here but all on testing marks and a bit to prove first time back . Ardera Cross showed a lot more last time, which was going to happen as he’s plummeted in the ratings . he won this last year off an 11 pound higher mark in the mud and then backed that up with another big run over C&D on heavy . New jockey today so just a small play .

2.10 The classy mare Verdana Blue is certainly the one to beat at the ratings , with around a 20 pound cushion over the rest but the warning signs are there. She’s been lightly raced of late which is not a good sign and ran way below par last time and today’s softer ground not ideal so there could be a shock in this snd I’m with the tough and talented front running Rosie and millie who did little wrong last season and a very lively longshot .

4.30 Quite a decent nursery for starters and not easy to solve . The fav is the in form and penalised Dewey Road and unproven at the trip or the surface. Aerion Power comes here on the back of two solid runs at this trip and fairly weighted on those runs but the top stable has an awful record with juveniles here. Neptunes Wonder is interesting at a price for a top stable that does well here but is badly drawn as is Dark Company , but worth risking this one after two good runs and could be on a good mark .

7.30 Bayston Hill was well held over C&D off this mark recently while Enmeshing showed zilch on his recent comeback spin . kirtling is holding his form well over C&D but the form is not as strong as International Law And the gritty Lady Elisia who fought out the finish over C&d recently but the latter can get revenge at the revised weights . She is very tough in the finish .
