Selected Wetherby- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
11.45 A tough opener with plenty of these having a clear chance. I was very much with Trapper Peak last time but this reliable type ran a rare tame one, but back on softer ground we could see him running a big race. It’s a race for conditional jockeys and Kevin Brogan is a cracking young rider .
¼ pt ew Trapper Peak @ 10/1
12.15 The useful flat horse First Impression has run two solid races over C&D and this looks at his mercy , but not for me at odds on .
12.50 The penalty and the softer ground makes it tougher for recent winner Doukarov while exelarator Express needs it even softer . Venetia Williams does very well switching young hurdlers into chasers and Funambule Sivola fits the profile and can land a winnable heat .
½ pt win Funambule Sivola @ 9/2
1.50 Soaring Glory is a useful young hurdler and defeat looks out of the question , but he is 2/9 !
2.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
12.00 A most winnable opener with so many hard to fancy. It was only a matter of time before Emerald Fox shed her maiden tag doing it very well here last time and in this company could be to defying the 6 pound hit going up in trip .
¼ pt win Emerald Fox @ 7/2
12.30 The front running Yes My Boy could have a pretty soft time of it up front and comes here in his usual consistent form . He’s a C&d winner and taken to make all. The useful Plantadream has flopped both times at this trip while Kryptos and the resurgent Sha La La La Lee are better on the Wolver tapeta. Fantasy Believer is 2 from 2 on polytrack but does go up in trip and the ratings.
¼ pt win Yes My Boy @ 5/2
1.00Newyorkstateofmind has run two massive races here of late and despite the wide draw, this is not a big ask and just about worth a bet
½ pt win Newyorkstateofmind @ evens
1.30 Lyrica’s lion and Ballydoyle chased home a progressive one over C&D last time and look likely to fight this out with the former getting the nod with SDS aboard .
¼ pt win Lyrica’s Lion @ 5/1
2.00 Bedford Flyer is a useful sprinter and sluiced home last time on the Newcastle tapeta off what looked a workable mark . He’s been hammered with an 11 pound penalty , which he’s most unlikely to be able to overcome , especially from the worst of the draw. Black Sparrow is fairly handicapped and has run well over C&D before and could sneak this at long odds.
¼ pt win Black Sparrow @ 10/1
2,35 Mummy’s boy has clearly the best form after a good debut run at Kempton , and taken to put his experience to good use .
¼ pt win Mummy’s Boy @ 3/1
Selected Hereford – good to soft on this flat and sharp track
12.05 Irish raider Getaway is of course interesting running for top trainer Gordon Elliot but stronger claims from Sam Barton , a good 5th on his hurdles debut and Bumpy johnson an impressive bumper winner . I’m watching .
12.40 Gordon Elliot runs Fancy Foundations but with the penalty and softer ground , likely to find it tough to match hooves with Hoi Polloi , an impressive winner in his only bumper and bred to be a hurdler . Should take this well en route to much better things.
¾ pt win Hoi Polloi @ 11/10
1.10 A very winnable event and with the consistent Brave Jaq, despite a chance of him bouncing 2nd race back from a long break .
¼ pt win Brave Jaq @ 9/2
1.40 PREMIUM RACE
2.50 Maskada won well last time but up in the ratings , trip and faces softer ground . Molly olly wishes takes a drop in grade and has to be respected but I’m trying the decent chaser Dame Du Soir , unlucky falls last twice and remains on a workable mark.
¼ pt ew Dame Du Soir @ 12/1
3.20 A competitive stayers chase with Garrane, Éclair De Guye ad Cuban Pete all having solid claims but the nod goes to back to form C&D winner Clondaw Rigger .
¼ pt ew Clondaw Rigger @ 15/2
No advice from Dundalk today
You can give chances to plenty in each race and the vast majority of the runners have rotten win records.
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.00 Popmaster was fairly easy to back on his debut over C&d from the worst of the draw , but travelled well throughout and only had to be pushed out for a cosy win , beating a couple of useful yardsticks. Far better drawn tonight and has found himself in a soft race and looks very good to carry the penalty .
¾ pt win Popmaster @ 10/11
4.30 A weak sprint and looks good for Fauvette to finally open her account after good seconds recently .
½ pt win Fauvette @ 5/4
5.00 Ilza’Eem could be one to follow as he did well on debut and is one of those where his value rocketed from £21,000 up to £260,000 ,and these usually do very well . The fav is the Godolphin newcomer in Royal Fleet who’ll need to run to a good level to land this . Jaafel also ran well over C&D on debut and looks a solid ew play for those like myself, sitting on the fence a bit .
¼ pt ew Jaafel @ 6/1
5.30 A tricky nursery and well happy playing one of the longshots in Evening Song an all the way winner at Chelmsford City last time and not badly handicapped on that run .
¼ pt win Evening Song @ 12/1
6.05 PREMIUM RACE
6.35 PREMIUM RACE
7.10 The lightly raced Guiseppe Cassioli won well in his first handicap at Lingfield , coming late from a bad draw with the luckless Buckingham close in 3rd, who has claims of revenge at the weights , but his last win was 18 months ago ! so hard to win with describes him well , but should still be mightily competitive . The selection then struggled from a horrendous draw at Chelmsford City and has since left Charlie Hills and joined the good stable of Marco Botti , who does very well with new intakes . He’s only 3 pounds higher for the Lingfield win and as he remains unexposed , looks capable of the hike, especially from the best of the draw and Ben Curtis riding . Uzincso has won his last two starts over C&D, but is 5 pounds higher and has the worst of the draw.
¼ pt win Giuseppe Cassioli @ 4/1
