Imperil 1.45 @ 8/1
Robin of Sherwood 2.05 @ 7/2
Recuerdeme 5.10 @ 7/2
De Vegas Kid 6.10 @ 5/1
Selected Market Rasen – soft ground on this mostly flat and sharp track
12.10 Understandably in this selling hurdle, the in form Falberto is a warm order at around even money , which looks short enough for me and in an uncompetitive heat , the back to form Ferrobin looks a nice ew play.
¼ pt ew Ferrobin @ 11/2
1.15 Negatives against the majority of these either for just so badly out of form or on ground just too soft . Cherokee Bill ran well at Hereford last time but does take a big drop in trip , but worth the risk in a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Cherokee Bill @ 7/1
1.45 Again , plenty of question marks against the majority of these with the back to form GetawayMag dropping in trip, and up in the ratings and grade while the ground is the issue with the in form Le Cameleon . Imperil hasn’t had a great deal of racing and despite practically demolishing every fence, still won well at Donny , beating a couple of in form types and is just 3 pounds higher today . this youngster could be ahead of the game, especially when he gets his jumping right .
½ pt win Imperil @ 8/1
2.15 PREMIUM RACE
2.50 My Members were on Barnay last time and never had much to worry about as they switched to a prominent ride and he was never in any danger , coming home for a clear win. He’s 7 pounds higher ,but on the balance of his form, that should be manageable and this isn’t a deep heat . He’s unlikely to get a soft lead today with other front runners in the field, but that’s no issue as he’s tactically versatile .Cilluirid landed a weak Catterick heat last time in the mud making all but hard to see a repeat in a stronger race under an 8 pound penalty .
½ pt win Barnay @ 2/1
3.25 Not a deep finale and the fav is youngster Courtland but up in trip and the ratings. Gortoe Joe has done well since joining the top stable of Fergal O’Brien and was running a terrific race last time in the Leicester mud until taking an unlucky late fall. This C&D may be on the sharp side but still preferred .
¼ pt win Gortroe Joe @ 5/1
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Taunton – heavy ground on this flat and sharp track
12.35 The pretty short priced fav is Chinwag a good winner in the Wincanton mud last time but the 7 pound hit wont help and neither will the longer trip in deep ground . Youngster Zhigali was well backed when winning comfortably last time at around this trip in the Huntingdon mud and another good run likely despite a 7 pound hit . Veteran Here’s Herbie has a terrific record here with 3 wins and 6 places from 15 tries and no issues with the ground . He hasn’t been pulling up any trees of late but was raced last time like they wanted to get a good run into his lungs . He’s on a very good mark and looks a lively longhsot . Tactical Manoeuvre landed a soft ground double over C&d at the end of las season but has struggled this season thus far but just too big to leave alone. Split my stake.
¼ pt ew each Here’s Herbie @ 25/1 Tactical Manoeuvre @ 18/1 – small rev fc ??
1.35 PREMIUM RACE
2.05 Oski was running a big race until taking a late fall last time but as that was his first run since a lengthy absence, could well Bounce today . Hard to fancy many and with recent soft ground winner Little Red Lion now on a stiff mark, preference is for the dependable Robin Of Sherwood who has run three mighty races in the Ffos Las mud this season and did OK last time off around this mark down in trip. Ground no issue and trip ideal, very different track but the stable has done well here before .
½ pt win Robin of Sherwood @ 7/2
2.40 Perfect Myth is an admirable sort who’s progressed greatly this year and impressed that she always willingly runs her race . She has a huge buffer at the weights but the drop in trip not ideal and the heavy ground a huge concern . Youngster Talking about You was impressive in the Aintree mud . almost making all and with the ground in her favour is preferred .
¼ pt win Talking About You @ 10/3
Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta
2.25 The fav is recent all the way Newcastle winner Lomu but looks vulnerable up 5 pounds and in trip . Zapper Class comes here on a hat-trick but would do very well to achieve it nudged up 3 pounds, but not impossible . Astro Jack has returned to form good style and after landing a double at Newcastle was only beaten 2 lengths over C&d last time and a similar run looks likely as this track is sharp enough for him . Top Breeze is very consistent but wins tend to elude him .He runs this C&d well and down in grade, could be his day .
¼ pt win Top Breeze @ 4/1
2.55 Understandably the bookies make this practically a match between Father Of Jazz , returning to duties for a new stable after 7 months off, but brings good form to the table but only run on turf . Moohareeba is proven here and no fitness doubts, gets the nod .
¼ pt win Moohareeba @ 5/2
3.30 A shocker of a race, easy swerve
4.05 Another race full of modest types hard to win with , the exception being youngster quiteacatch , just about worth a play at cramped odds . Good enough form here and longer trip should be fine .
¼ pt win Quiteacatch @ 2/1
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
5.10 Very few can be given a serious chance and a cracking opportunity for dual C&D winner Recuerdeme, who has held his form pretty well and remains on a workable mark .
½ pt win Recuerdeme @ 7/2
5.40 The reliable Casaruan is fav but is up in the weights , poorly drawn and more effective on polytrack . Both Steal The scene and Blue Whisper has run well over C&D of late, but like most of this field are hold up types and the door is open for something to get a soft lead and kick off the front. The prime candidate is the well handicapped Ten Chants, whose recent form is nothing to shout about but has hinted that the ability is still there . Recent Kempton winner has more to do up in the ratings and switching surface .
¼ pt ew Ten Chants @ 11/1
6.10 Golden Force was given a prominent ride last time over C&D and was unlucky late on but stull ran well to be a close 3rd off this mark just behind a very much back to form Da Vegas Kid . That race was in higher grade and the winner came from way back off the strong pace and can double up off just a 2 pound higher mark and has run well over C&D in the past off even higher marks . A strong pace is assured with the well drawn pair of Golden Force and Streak Lightning sure to go out hard and with David Probert keeping the ride , the well drawn tip can nail this late on . Cityzen King has to be respected going for the C&D hat-trick but the wide draw and penalty wont help, but still respected .
½ pt win Da Vegas Kid @ 5/1
