Today’s Fortune for a fiver
3 £1 doubles & £2 treble
Miranda 2.05 @ 5/2
Mutahamisa 1.45 @ 11/8
Power Over Me 2.20 @ 5/6
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
12.00 despite all being penalised , the three last time winners in Arabic welcome, rakematiz and Compass Point are the three to concentrate upon as the others ate showing little signs that their time is due. Arabic Welcome is the short priced fav but is 7 pounds higher for a win at Wolver and is badly drawn and to compensate an inexperienced 7 pound claimer has been booked . He makes little appeal at short odds and preference for the tip , who has a nasty 5 pound penalty but the drop in trip is in his favour and has won off higher marks in the past but fair to say he’s not as good as he was .
¼ pt ew Rakematiz @ 7/1
1.45 After a good win at Kempton Mutahamisa was unlucky over C&D last time and the winner has gone in since under a penalty . He’s up 2 pounds which shouldn’t be an issue and a capable 5 pound claimer takes over .
¾ pt win Mutahamisa @ 11/8
2.20 Power over Me has rattled off a quick hat-trick and is only 3 pounds higher for his latest win which came over C&D , winning by 3 lengths. This looks very much a penalty kick .
¾ pt win Power Over Me @ 5/6
2.55 This has a most winnable look to it and the short priced fav Pirate King is the likely winner .
3.30 Another winnable looking race and despite a stiff 5 pound hit, Catch My Breath has won his last two over C&D , coming off the pace both times and the hat-trick Is on .
¼ pt double Pirate King @ 5/4 Catch My Breath @ 11/4
Selected Donny- soft ground on this flat and galloping track
12.55 PREMIUM RACE
1.30 Last season’s Supreme Novice Hurdler Shiskin was mightily impressive in his chase debut and is rated a very lofty 170 , even higher than the likes of Altior and Sprinter Sacre, two of the very best in recent years. He’s 1/5 for this and despite some decent opposition , should win with ease but Eldorado Allen looks the best of the rest and an ew play on him gets you a lot more back than backing the fav to win, even if only 2nd .
¼ pt ew Eldorado Allen @ 12/1
2.05 The bookies make this a 3 mare war but with Floressa carrying a penalty and soft ground an issue and with Maries Rock flopping badly on her comeback spin, the coast looks clear for the in form mud loving Miranda , who comes out best at the weights by 4 pounds .
¾ pt win Miranda @ 5/2
2.40 This is a red hot Grade 2 for young stayers and a case can be made for many but question marks regarding recent Ascot all the way winner Emir Sacre , unlikely to have his own way up front , up in trip , not that well rated compared to others and looks a bouncer 2nd race back from a break . Fern Hill has impressed winning his last two from the front , but hasn’t had an easy time of things trying to dominate but has stuck on stoically for determined wins . The longer trip looks within his range and trainer Ben Case does very well here and every chance off his rating .
¼ pt ew Fern Hill @ 9/1
3.15 A highly competitive Class 1 chase and the worthy fav Is Cap Du Nord who chased home the find of the season in Royale Pagaille at Kempton in the mud and the 3rd horse, 20 lenghts behind has won since ! Previously he won well at Newbury on good ground beating Canelo who went on to land a competitive weterby handicap in the mud. Both have strong claims but this is a specialist’s track which leans me towards the back to form Rocky’s treasure, who is 3 from 4 here . He’s 7 pounds higher for a narrow win over Give Me A Copper but he is on the comeback trail and was much higher rated previously . Soft ground not ideal but C&D form makes him a lively longshot .
¼ pt ew Rocky’s Treasure @ 18/1
3.50 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
2.00 PREMIUM RACE
2.35 I’ve been very much with C&d specialist Central City in his last few runs but he’s a hold up type dependent upon a good pace to come off, and hasn’t really had that luxury of late . there are a number of prominent racers in this big field and this could be run to suit this strong finisher .
½ pt ew Central City @ 15/2
3.10 Deep Impression is now on a tough mark and a bit to prove on polytrack. MuayThai won well last time but clear preference for Semper Augustus a close 3rd in a small but competitive field over C&D and the winner has gone in since under a penalty and the 2nd horse brought strong form into the race . Only worry is the first time visor, rarely used by the good stable of Ed Walker .
½ pt win Semper Augustus @ 3/1
3.45 This is likely to be tactical and the in form Lottie marie could profit. She is the only front runner and could get first run on the in form track specialist I’m Available .
½ pt win Lottie Marie @ 2/1
4.55 Jeanette May is a regular in these low grade events here and wont be far away , but wins have become elusive . Shy Jack was a shock winner over C&D last time but a penalty makes the double difficult . Dusty Damsel has been running well over C&D in better company and from a good draw, this could finally be her day .
¼ pt win Dusky Damsel @ 7/2
6.00 A low grade event, again , and it looks easy peasy for recent C&d winner My Laddo , who drops in grade and despite an inexperienced 7 pound claimer riding , should be a steering job .
6.30 A similar event and a similarly strong and worthy fav in Devizes , a recent winner at this trip at Lingfield in a far better race and the double looks on .
¼ pt double Mi Laddo @ 6/4 Devizes @ 7/4
