1.00Jackson hill was only a 7/1 shot over C&D last time but after 2 fences had drifted to 100/1 after a couple of ponderous leaps, but he warmed up as the event went on and in the end was a very cosy winner in a good race . Could well be up to the 6 pound hit in a race which lacks substance , and keep your eye on him drifting alarmingly if he again is slow to warm to his task .

5.00 It took Velvet Vista 19 tries to finally get off the mark, routing the opposition over C&d in a modest heat and then quickly followed up with another good win at Wolver . she’s clearly thriving and once a long time maiden gets the taste of success, they tend to improve some way . She’s up a further 5 pounds in this modest handicap and has the worst of the draw, but if she is a reformed character , is likely to land the hat-trick . The veteran Baltic Prince comes here in good shape and well drawn for a prominent racer . He’s never done much at this venue in the past which is surprising as he’s effective on the surface and this kind of track . Nice ew play .

5.30 The recent winners Spirit of May and Ventura Lightning would do well to double up under penalties, especially the latter switching from tapeta. The fav is the useful edraak , but he returns from a break and could find this test on the sharp side and the draw could have been kinder . The veteran Watchable is still a useful sprinter and despite being better nowadays at the minimum trip , he stays this far well enough . On a good mark and well drawn and likes it here .
