Today's Fortune for a fiver
6 50p doubles 4 25p trebles & 50p ew acca
Moss Gill 2.05 @ 11/8
Johnny Drama 2.40 @ 13/2
Ga Law 1.50 @ 13/8
Captain Blackpearl 4.10 @ 6/1
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
11.45 The short priced fav is Recent C&D winner Convertible, but I was with him that day and it was a winnable heat and more to do today up in the ratings and grade . Kendergarten Kop has taken his form to a new level since being stepped up in trip and has been very well backed today , and I’m with the gamble .
¼ pt qin Kendergarten Kop @ 10/3
12.20 understandable that glentaneous is a very warm order but 2/5 no kind of bet .
12.55 Only 4 go and with no front runner, this is going to be mighty tactical which makes the odds on about the progressive Intuitive most unappealing , especially with the massive penalty .
1.25 An open sprint maiden and all of the market leaders have a similar number of positives and negatives.
2.05 A good quality Class 1 sprint and easy to read and easy to pick the winner . Both Ornate and lord Riddiford will be getting busy very early but the classy sprinter Moss Gill wont mind sitting behind the strong pace and can assert in the final furlong. He has at least a 6 pound advantage over the others, goes well fresh and the sire produces plenty polytrack winners.
¾ pt win Moss Gill @ 11/8
2.40 Power of Slates has had a terrific season but is understandably a longshot in this competitive Class 1 where the other 4 are hard to split but the prolific Johnny drama comes out best at the weights, proven over C&d and Ryan Moore rides, looks a very nice play at the odds .
½ pt win Johnny Drama @ 13/2
3.10 The short priced fav in this tricky event is the hat-trick seeking Lucky’s dream but as he’s up in the weights and trip , not for me and rest are much of a muchness.
3.43 Arabescato is a regular here but a nudge up the weights and upped in trip , not helpful . The hat-trick seeking Anisoptera won well over C&D last time seen, but that was over 3 months ago and she returns on a 7 pound higher mark . And The New was a bit unlucky over C&D last time but still has a bit of ground to make up on the consistent Ivaquestion , who again looks a nice ew play.
¼ pt ew Ivaquestion @ 7/1
Selected Kempton – probably good ground on this flat and sharp track – speed track
1.15 PREMIUM RACE
1.50 The odds on fav is Tamaroc Du Mathan who brings the best form to the table but the longer trip is an issue and he’s only tried it once, over C&D and didn’t get home . Clear preference is for the lightly raced and already prolific GA Law , a front runner suited to the ground and most probably the track . Coole Cody is certainly no mug and also races prominently but he saves his very best efforts for Cheltenham , a totally different track.
½ pt win Ga Law @ 13/8
2.25 The useful flat horse Tritonic brushed aside just some OK rivals winning on debur but looks capable of well more and understandable he’s short odds .
½ pt win Tritonic @ evens
3.00 Despite all of these being in winning form of late, the bookies are rightly concentrating on just three but the Irish raider in Cape Gentleman was pulled up last time and the drying ground certainly no help to this mud lover . Calico was rated a lofty 100 in Germany and showed a preference for good ground so his hurdles debut win on deep ground can certainly be upgraded , and it was a useful performance anyway . The fav is hat-trick seeking Atholl Street , who’s looking a useful sort but preference for the tip .
½ pt win Calico @ 3/1
3.35 A wide open stayers chase and quite a few of these are going well off their marks, will appreciate the better ground but going up in trip, but if you are going to stay three miles , it’ll be here on this easy track . The veteran Double Shuffle finally git back in the Winner’s Circle with a gritty win over C&d and the placed horses have done plenty for the form since. He has a terrific record here with 2 wins and 4 places from 8 starts and despite the 5 pound hit , another good run beckons , especially on drying ground .
½ pt ew Double Shuffle @ 12/1
4.10 This has a winnable look to it and despite being a stone higher for his smart win over C&D on good ground, the lightly raced Captain Blackpearl backed that up with a solid 2nd off this mark last time and nice prospects here .
½ pt win Captain Blackpearl @ 6/1
Selected Newcastle – probably good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
1.35 Hard to pick between Deluxe Range, Lord of kerak and Wetlands .
2.10 The luckless Slanelough is likely to try and make all and is effective over C&D and ground . Remains on a workable mark and this could be his day .
¼ pt win Slanelough @ 5/2
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 Not a deep race and while Farnham continues to run well , this C&D is unlikely to suit this speed horse and clear preference is for the lightly raced Hooligan , who has run well off this mark and ground on a stiff track.
½ pt win Hooligan @ 6/4
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
6.30 This is wide open but despite Excellent George running consistently well , nowadays finds it very tough to get his nose in front . Kylla looks is another in form runner but the drop in trip wont help . the reliable and likeable pair of Sir Hector and Sir Rodneyrednose will again run their races but now both on tough marks . The veteran It Must Be Faith has been in very good form of late and did little wrong last time at Lingfield down in trip . This late player will be well suited to the likely strong pace and well drawn to conjure up a late telling finish , but he’s the outsider due to an inexperienced rider aboard . Let’s hope he can look after himself .
¼ pt ew It Must Be faith @ 20/1
7.00 Cahors is up in trip , the ratings and grade and tackles polytrack for the first time so enough to prove while the in form Lady quickstep is another with it to prove on the surface while the hard to win with Portugueseprincess could struggle down in trip . Come On Girl has held her form pretty well since landing a similar event at Lingfield but runs here in the past not her best , but from a good draw, still preferred .
¼ pt win Come on Girl @ 11/2
8.00 Kentucky Kingdom is holding his form very well especially over this C&D and has bright prospects of another win in a race where quantity outweighs quality .
½ pt win Kentucky Kingdom @ 4/1
8.30 After running two most solid races of late , it’s understandable that Headley George is a warm order in a weak finale, but I can afford to skip this is just 6/4
Chelmsford City placepot
