Selected Stratford = good to soft on this flat and sharp track
12.30 The odds on fav is Casa Loupi who deserves to get his head in front after two big runs when 2nd both times and each time behind Triumph Hurdle fav Tritonic . he brings the best form to the table but the ground and sharp track may well suit recent facile Catterick winner Stepney Causeway more and despite the penalty , could be too speedy .
¼ pt win Stepney Causeway @ 5/2
1.00If there’s any justice in the world Shut The box will ger due reward for a most consistent series of 4 seconds and 2 thirds in his last 6 and stays on a workable mark , but his overall win record is only 1 from 16 and with recent Fakenham winner Kap Auteil a massive 12 pounds higher , there could be a surprise winner in the well treated Knight destroyer who ended last season with a good win over hurdles on similar ground off a mark of 111 and after a couple of disappointing efforts , showed a bit more last time and could try and lead this all the way .This is not a deep race .
¼ pt ew Knight Destroyer @ 12/1
1.30 A quick glance at the form figures speaks volumes about these and the only recent winner is dylan’s Sea Song who will appreciate the better ground and has run well over C&D off around this mark . Letsbe Avenue was still in contention until taking a late fall last time and has to be considered.
¼ pt win Dylan’s Sea Song @ 13/2
2.03 There’s been plenty of money for Accordingtogeno this morning but he’s still 7 pounds higher for is win a few starts ago and not for me . Subcontinent finally nailed one last time but with a penalty , the double looks tough . The lightly raced Orrisdale comes here in good form and the first time cheekpieces a big positive for the stable . Kapgarry is very hit and miss but is only a pound higher for a good win over C&d 3 starts back .
¼ pt win Orrisdale @ 7/2
Selected Plumpton – good to soft on this gently undulating and sharp track
1.45 As Astigar has a chunk to prove after being pulled up last time for no good reason , the coast looks very clear for course winner Smurphy Enki to get back on track as he too was pulled up last time but it was in Grade 1 company on deep ground .
¾ pt win Smurphy Enki @ 8/11
2.17 The ultra consistent Invincible Cave will again make a right fist of it , probably from the front m but drying ground and a drop in trip no help. Clear preference for the lightly raced Fleck Ivy after a most respectable 2nd last time and C&D and ground should both be fine.
½ pt win Fleck Ivy @ 7/2
2.47 This is wide open but drying ground ne helpto Bailarico or Buckthorn George while the fav Blame The game is on a tough mark with stamina to prove. Moroder won well in the Fakenham mud at around this trip last time and being lightly raced , could be up to the 6 pound hit , but drying ground is an issue . Mr Clarkson has plummeted in the weights and has been showing a few glimmers of a recovery . Drying ground in his favour and could surprise .
¼ pt ew Mr Clarkson @ 16/1
3.17 None of these have a good win record and plenty are in and out but the most consistent is Big Time Frank , likely to run his race again and who knows , an overdue and in fairness a deserved one can come his way.
¼ p tew Big Time frank @ 7/1
3.47 All of the novices Midnight Ginger Go Chique and midnight Callisto have a bit to prove off their marks and going up in trip . Runasimi River is most consistent but wins have dried up of late and drying ground not perfect . Ruby Yeats runs this track well and despite being on a tough enough mark and drying ground not ideal , appeals at the odds .
½ pt ew Ruby Yeats @ 9/1
Selected Taunton – soft ground on this flat and sharp track .
2.10 The fav is the decent flat horse Vulcan who ran OK on debut over hurdles and that form gives him claims today but preference is for Iron Mike who pushed the very decent On To Victory al the way at Wincanton and can be excused a pulled up last time on desperate ground at Exeter . The ex-french Tulin enters the equation in his first start for the top stable of Paul Nicholls .
½ pt win Iron Mike @ 5/2
3.10 This is a weak affair and the front running novice The Widdow Maker ran them ragged over C&D last time in the mud and relatively good odds .
¾ pt win The Widdow Maker @ 2/1
3.40 Beau Du Brizais can gain reward for good consistent efforts against rivals with plenty to prove .
½ pt win Beau De Brizais @ 4/1
4.10 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 The three recent winners : hunter’s Step drops in trip , Mudawin , on a tough mark and Choosey , stamina doubts all have a bit to prove but so do all of the others and well happy to let this one go .
5.20 PREMIUM RACE
5.50 Tough to call with Kettle Hill bringing the best form to the table but carries the dreaded penalty , returns from an 8 months break and has only run on turf . Big Ring did well on debut and is well respected as is the John Gosden £600,000 newcomer Mount Marcy .
6.20 This will take little winning and looks good for C&d regular International Law , a close 3rd over C&D last time off this lowly mark .
½ pt win International Law @ 11/8
6.50 Hard to get a handle on this one, an easy swerve .
7.20 Nellie French is on a C&D hat-trick and the way she’s been winning , another win no pipe dream despite the 4 pound hit . Thegrevytrain was very tough when prevailing at Lingfield and from a good draw , not out of this with the 3 pound penalty . Veteran You’re cool has been holding his form well and takes a rare drop into Class 6 company off a workable mark . Been unlucky in the draw but still a contender .
¼ pt ew You’re Cool @ 7/1
7.50 A chance can be given to most of these but at the odds I’m with recent Kempton winner Komore , who did it very well and could be up to the stiff penalty .
¼ pt win komore @ 6/1
