3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Mi Laddo 1.00 @ 7/2
Marks Choice 6.20 @ 7/2
Bossipop 6.50 @ 4/1
Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track
12.30 This sharp C&D is likely to be far too sharp for the strong staying Seinesational so it’s looking a match between Restandbethankful , who returns from a break with the absence unlikely to be an issue and Gold Link , who ran well last time at Wincanton and those behind have run well since and just gets the nod .Tardee has decent form and looks the best longshot .
¼ pt win Gold Link @ 11/4
1.00The lightly raced Harry The Norseman was given a prominent ride when winning at Uttoxeter with White Turf just 4 lengths behind in 3rd and has a big enough pull in the weights to get revenge , but this is a very different track and the respective trainers have never had winners here . The reliable Mi Laddo is a late player and despite another nudge up the ratings , likes this type of track and a further positive is in this race for Conditional jockeys, regular rider Mitchell Bastyan is in the saddle , and a good pace is on which will further help the tip .
½ pt win Mi Laddo @ 7/2
2.00 A competitive Class 3 chase and plenty come here in good form and have their preferred ground and there’s also a few who have been dropped to good marks after battling against soft ground . As You Like is down to a good mark and likes it here and last time was a step forward but preference for Compadre after a big run at Haydock last time and the return to this track will help .
¼ pt ew Compadre @ 8/1
2,35 PREMIUM RACE
3.05 The short priced fav is An Tailliur , but he’s up a bit in the ratings and this longer trip could test . Seapoint did little wrong last time at Newcastle when 3rd and the pair ahead have run Ok since and she’s run well here before .
¼ pt ew Seapoint @ 8/1
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Ascot – good to soft on this stiff and galloping track.
3.00 Aldarry is 2 from 2, proven on soft ground , on a good mark for his handicap debut and longer trip looks no issue . Looks a most solid fav In an uncompetitive heat .
½ pt win Aldarry @ 11/8
3.30 As with all big field sprints on a straight track , first identify where the early pace will come from and the likely leader is the free going Going Places , who ran well for a long way at Newmarket last time , first try at this trip and on turf . The slower ground could help and as he stays further ,is not dismissed . There are a handful of other prominent racers who are also drawn low to middle, so those drawn high could struggle to get into this . Northern raider Edgewood struck first time out last year and then ran two more big races off this mark until finding the heavy ground against him in his final outing . He goes well on stiff tracks and this kind of ground and this late player is nicely drawn and will have an ideal strong pace to chase .
¼ pt ew Edgewood @ 16/1
4.05 Plenty of unexposed 3yo sprinters none more so than Crimson Sand, well backed to win first time back on the Lingfield polytrack then doubled up at the same venue smartly but this is his acid test switching to soft turf on a far stiffer track . The likely pacesetter is the capable Ballyconneely Bay , who ran well for a long way in a hot race at Ponty and as he likes the ground and a stiff track , could take some reeling in and delight Julie Camacho who also trains the previous tip .
¼ pt ew Balyconnneely Bay @ 9/1
Selected Chester – good to soft on this flat and sharp track
Revich has a terrific record round here with 3 wins and a place from 5 tries ! and no issues with the ground or today’s mark . He’s drawn the plot draw in stall 1 and he has made all to win here before but is usually played to stalk the pace . He’s in cracking form , despite missing the break a few times , which is not the thing to do round here. The free going Gobi Sunset is well drawn to set the pace but unlikely to stay there and as long as Tom Marquand can get a handy sit, the tip should extend his winning run here .
½ pt win Revich @ 2/1
2.15 Bangkok and Palavicino are useful types but far better on polytrack and this looks a match between a pair proven on the ground and trip and clear preference for Armory over Sangarius .
½ pt win Armory @ 11/10
2.45 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 the very wonderful El Astronaute is getting no younger but still a very smart sprinter and is clearly the one to beat at the ratings. He won first time out last season , no issues with the ground and is a dual course winner . Should be away and gone.
¾ pt win El astronaute @ 5/4
3.45 This has a winnable look to it and despite a tame comeback spin , Lawn Ranger has run some big races over C&D on this ground and mark and this front runner , if back to his best , could take some catching .
¼ pt ew LawnRanger @ 7/1
4.20 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Nottingham – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
6.30 Many of these switching from the all weather , so a bit to prove on easy turf . Kalma won over C&D last time but it wasn’t the strongest of heats and for his trouble is up 5 pounds and faces slower ground . western Beat is rarely far away and again decent effort expected from a nice draw .
¼ pt ew Western Beat @ 9/1
7.30 The admirable Rains of Castamere goes for the 4 timer and despite the hefty 5 pound hit , the opposition is not strong and another win looks on but too short for me at 5/4 .
Selected Ripon – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
5.20 Wee LocH lass brings the best form to the table and shouldn’t be troubled to upgrade 2 seconds into a deserved win from the best of the draw.
¾ pt win Wee Loch Lass @ 10/11
6.20 Marks Choice has a terrific record round here and has obviously benefitted from the wind op as he usually needs a few runs to get into his stride but won very well after a break . The 4 pound hit looks Ok and the ground is in his favour. Citron Major also runs this C&d very well and has a rare pop in Class 4, but would want the ground to dry out .
½ pt win Marks Choice @ 7/2
6.50 Bossipop has 4 track wins to his name, all over an extra furlong, but the drop in trip in no issue and comes here in top form . Ground is in his favour and can notch track win 5 at the expense of the consistent Intrinsic Bond, who could find things happening a bit quick over this C&D .
½ pt win Bossipop @ 4/1
7.50 Delgrey Lad exploited a race devoid of early pace at Thirsk and would do very well to double up under a stiff penalty , up in trip and on softer ground , but hard to find an alternative .
8.20 The odds on fav is Celestial Queen after a clear win at Redcar beating an in form type , but softer ground tonight and preference for Yorkshire Lady , who comes here in very good form with a close 2nd at Beverley on ground quick enough and prefers it soft .
¼ pt win Yorkshire Lady @ 10/3
