Selected Sedgefield – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
1.00The decent flat horse Zoran was a massive disappointment on his hurdles debut and needs to have found dramatic improvement to land this modest novice event which looks to likely to be fought out by the two previous winners in the field in the likeable Geronimo and the ex – Irish Gordon’s Jet, who was backed as if defeat was out of the question when winning well at Chepstow , on his first start for a while and the fact he missed a recent engagement suggests he may be hard to keep sound, but no such issues with the tip who gets the nod , despite the drop in trip .
½ pt win Geronimo @ 11/8
1.35 There was precious little between Six One Nine and Silken Moonlight over C&D last time on good ground and they went hammer and tongs from flagfall and neither was stopping . Hard to split on the revised weights. Fc time .
¼ pt rev fc Six One Nine – Silken Moonlight
2.07 An uncompetitive handicap and it looks a two horse wat between Hats Off To Larry , who found some form from somewhere to land a modest handicap off this mark against Zamarkhan , who has pretty good C&D form and has been going well In Jumper Bumpers . but at 5/4 I can pass.
2.37 This looks even weaker and the clear form horse is Authorizo , but again too short for a play at 5/4.
3.07 You would expect very much the useful hurdler Christopher Wood to land odds of 1/2 , but again I’ll just be watching .
3.37 Another uncompetitive event and the consistent Little Actress should finally get her reward for a series of good placed efforts, but is a shade of odds on .
Selected Beverley – good to soft on this stiff and galloping track
2.45 Soul Seeker comes here on a hat-trick and has looked much improved since dropping to this trip and racing with the pace but despite a good draw, the 11 pound hit is massive and softer ground another issue . He wont have the lead to himself with the likeable Lady Celia well drawn to take them along and she remains on a workable mark and is at her best on a stiff track when the mud is flying . You could have thrown a blanket over Ventura Flame , Debawtry and Van Gerwen when the foremost prevailed narrowly over C&D , but it was on fast turf and of that trio Van Gerwen is the most likely to appreciate the softer ground . East Street Avenue has a great record here , particularly on soft ground , but this late player may not get the very strong pace he craves .It’s Lady Celia for me to be front rank and keep it going .
¼ pt ew Lady Celia @ 9/1
3.15 Midnite Lady comes here on a 4 timer and one of those wins came here in he mud. She’s only 3 pounds higher and this longer trip could see her in an even better light . The back to form course specialist Poet’s Dawn is the clear danger .
¼ pt win Midnite Lady @ 2/1
3.45 This looks wide open and hard to be sure as few have ever taken their chances on soft ground before , but the consistent Space Kid ran well on turf last time and on breeding , soft ground could suit .
¼ pt win Space Kid @ 10/1
4.45 Some strong stables are represented in this maiden but the clear form horse is Dancing To win, 2nd in both runs last year , running to a good mark and both on soft ground . The Southern stable has a good record here and first time visor a positive for the stable too . The fav is Timeless Soul , a hood 3rd on debut at Haydock, but on quick ground .
½ pt win Dancing To Win @ 9/4
Selected Wetherby – soft ground on this mostly flat and galloping track
5.15 A right puzzle of an opener and you can certainly give all 5 a fighting chance .

Selected Ayr- good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.25 The odds on fav in this very weak handicap is recent fibresand winner Scudamore, but is a massive 10 pounds higher and the switch to lively turf could well find him out , but none of the opposition is screaming to be backed.
6.00 Give Em The Slip has returned with two big runs on polytrack and he handled quick turf well last season . Should have too much pace for these .
½ pt win Give Em The Slip @ 5/4
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.05 Caballero made a right fist of it over C&D last time but was just edged out by Midnite Lady , no disgrace as that filly has won since under a penalty and had track regular Tommy G just a length behind but his rival is favoured by the weights , but not so well drawn . Coviglia was a market springer in a big field amateur riders race at Donny , but was a never nearer 6th and that form needs seriously stepping up on . The tip doesn’t have a good win record but this is not deep .
¼ pt win Coviglia @ 7/2
7.35 It’s hard to knock the lightly raced Hong Kong Harry , with 3 wins from just 4 starts , the latest over C&D just getting the better of Be Proud , with a couple of in form types behind, but it was a steadily run affair , so the form could be unreliable , and with Be Proud being so close up and form at this trip not good, that supports the theory . Chookie Dunedin comes here in tremendous form but this hold up type is reliant upon a good pace being set , which may well come from Gwedore and Three Saints Bay , so is preferred .
¼ pt win Chookie Dunedin @ 5/2
8.05 This looks a match between the last time out winners in Ayr Poet , who is up sharply in the weights and grade and up in trip , so clear preference for recent C&D winner Dream With Me, who did well to recover from a sluggish start and beat a couple of reliable yardsticks well and should be up to the 4 pound hit .
½ pt win Dream With Me @ 5/4
8.35 A very uncompetitive finale and the clear form horse is the consistent Puckle, but all of his best form comes on stiff tracks, so would do well to win on this speed track .
