Ajran 1.00 @ 7/1
Love Destiny 1.35 @ 14/1
Potenza 3.25 @ 5/2
Selected Newmarket – good to soft on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
1.00The consistent ajrad was entitled to do better on his recent comeback spin on the all weather , but handles the ground and a stiff track, which is a lot more than his rivals have done .
¼ pt ew Ajrad @ 7/1
1.35 Not a deep race and the fav is the lightly raced Biggles , who returns from a break after landing a modest event at Kempton on polytrack over a shorter trip and not for me switching to this Stiff C&d on softish ground . Since having the snip Love Destiny has taken off with 3 wins on the all weather , the latest off a mark of 73 . He did OK last time at Musselburgh when a close 4th behind some reliable yardsticks in what was a tactical affair. He’s run well on this ground before and on stiff tracks and is ridden today by a capable 5 pound claimer. Looks a most lively longshot .
½ pt ew Love destiny @ 14/1
2.15 Tenbury Wells did well for his top stable last season but ended on a stiff enough mark , but still well respected in a most winnable heat . The consistent Master of the Stars has been going well on the all weather and has a similar level of form on soft turf and looks a safe ew play .
¼ pt ew Master of The Sea @ 11/2
2.50 The lightly raced Golden Rules runs in famous colours and has come quite a long way in a short time . He was a close 2nd to the useful Tyson Fury on soft ground last season and was beaten just a nose on his comeback spin at this trip and will be hard to beat .The in form Soto Sizzler has a bit to prove on the ground, trip and track .
½ pt win Golden Rules @ 7/4
3.20 The odds on fav is Enable’s half brother Derab after two good efforts in maiden company but this field is full of dark horses from good stables racing in famous colours .
3.50 The key factor here is the ground as the fav , the in form Jean Baptiste , is the only one with Ok form on the going and should be able to grind out a deserved win .
¼ pt win Jean Baptiste @ 3/1
Selected Newbury – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.15 Soundlikethunder impressed at Donny with practically an all the way win and has claims despite the penalty and softer ground. Ensyabby has the form in the book to land this well but is having a tough time shedding his maiden tag but the trip and ground are no issues but the first time cheepieces are not a positive for the stable . Just a small play.
¼ pt win Ensyabby @ 7/4
1.50 The only one of these 2yos with experience is Gisburn , who did well on debut but goes up in trip and tries softer ground . plenty of dark horses in this .
2.25 May Sonic got the better of two much higher rated rivals at Chelmsford when switching to hold up tactics, but quite a bit to prove switching to soft turf . Barbill’s recent comeback spin was just Ok and remains on a tough enough mark . Both Beyond Equal and Concierge go up in grade but both are in good form and wont mind the ground and the nod goes to the former .
¼ pt win Beyond Equal @ 9/2
2.55 Beheld was very impressive when winning her soft ground maiden over C&D last year and this modest maiden looks hers for the taking despite the penalty .
1/2 pt win Beheld @ 7/4
3.25 Despite the big field it’s hard to fancy many and the reliable Potenza has no penalty for a soft ground win at Chester and the double looks on .
½ pt win Potenza @ 5/2
3.55 Mojo Star cost a whopping £220,000 and did well on his debut on deep ground here and is the short priced fav, but there are a number of dark horses in this .
4.25 Annandale would do very well to go in again with the 7 pound hit and trying softer ground in a competitive heat where a chance can be given to many . At the odds the consistent Otyrar is worth a play .
¼ pt ew Otyrar @ 9/1
Selected York – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.40 Very hard to be sure in yhis Class 1 2yo sprint as juveniles have a knack of improving very quickly so plenty of these have every right to progress. I’m with the fav In Crazyland, whose trainer has made a flying start with his 2yos and must rate this one highly as he’s the stable’s pick . He was impressive at Windsor when coming off the oace to beat today’s rivals in Fabiosa and Sienna Bonnie , who have both won with ease since.
½ pt win Crazyland @ 10/3
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 The prolific Sir Ron Priestly has come back from an enforced absence good as new with two smart wins , both times making all but with the tearaway Wells Farrh in the field returning from a break , wont be able to dominate and this could be a messy race. His stablemate Nayef Road is closely matched with the fav and because of way this race is likely to be run, gets te nod to stay the better .
¼ pt win Nayef Road @ 11/4
3.40 PREMIUM RACE
4.15 PREMIUM RACE
4.50 A wide open finale full of in form types, most of which are going up in trip .
5.20 Only 3 go and despite Mister Sweets looking a bit of an unknown quantity returning to the fray after over a year off , this soft ground pointer has a bit to prove despite now being with a good trainer . On form there is little between Copper Coin and Onagatheringstorm , but the former is proven on the ground and trip and gets the nod .
½ pt win Copper Coin @ 13/8
6.25 Some very in form and progressive types in this big field but the front running Giovanni Change has a very hefty 12 pound penalty and Proschema, a 104 rated flat horse , has finally got the hang of the jumping game and sluiced in at Cheltenham in his first try at this trip and has been rewarded with an 11 pound hit, but hard to rule out . Irish Roe is not the useful mare she was but has responded well to the drop In the ratings and ran well for a long way at Cheltenham last time and will be far better suited to this track and appeals as a longshot .
¼ pt ew Irish Roe @ 10/1
7.00 Johnbb ran an absolute cracker over C&D at the recent Grand National meeting and despite going up 3 pounds , is the one to beat on that form .
¼ pt win Johnbb @ 7/2
Selected Hamilton – good to soft on this undulating, galloping and stiff track
5.35 Not much to go on with only one of these 6 2yos having run before and fifteensummers showed little at Chester ,but it was a good race. Ryan’s Party’s value soared from £42,000 to £200,000 from yearling to 2yo and this is often a sign of a useful type.
½ pt win Ryan’s Party @ 7/4
6.10 This looks a straight match between last time winner, the reliable Howzer Black but a nasty 5 pound hit gives him a vulnerable look but the only real danger in Where’s Jeff is more potent over a longer trip ??
6.40 Flying Verse notched a hat-trick last season , with 2 of those wins coming over C&D on easy ground .His recent comeback spin wasn’t bad considering it was on unsuitable fast ground and off just a 2 pound higher mark , looks good in a winnable heat .
½ pt win Flying Verse @ 9/4
7.15 The trader was a cosy winner here last time with Notation and Alright Sunshine both just over a length behind , but the 5 pound hit makes the double unlikely and also softer ground tonight . The front running Notation will benefit from both the slightly shorter trip and softer conditions and gets the nod. The fav is the in form First Impression but has stamina doubts over this testing C&D .
¼ pt win Notation @ 6/1
7.45 Eric Bloch landed a double last year and hasn’t run badly in two tries on the all weather this season. He’s a prominent racer who sees this trip out really well and likely to be suited by this tough C&d. The in form Prince of Qatar goes for the hat-trick and won over C&D last time , but this is tougher up in grade and the ratings, but goes on the ground and respected . Dream Together and Lord Oberon are others to consider in an open race .
¼ pt win Eric Bloch @ 11/2
8.20 Yukon Mission has hit the frame 10 times in 13 tries including over C&D last time when agonisingly chinned late on when making a bold bid to make all . softer ground is no issue and this could finally be her day . The in form The Retriever is a fibresand specialist and both the drop in trip and switch to turf are very much against him .
¼ pt win Yukon Mission @ 4/1
8.50 The fav is the consistent Refuge , but thus far all good runs have come on speed tracks so despite liking the ground , this testing track may well not be ideal . Rockley Point is only modest but always runs his race and is effective both over C&D and the ground , and this prominent racer looks a lively longshot . The in form Gunnerside has it to prove on the ground down in trip and the others make little appeal .
¼ pt ew Rockley Point @ 12/1
