50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble
Saisons D’Or 3.23 @ 9/1
George Morland 3.40 @ 13/2
Citron Major 7.30 @ 11/1
3 £1 doubles & £2 treble
Tres Spirit 6.55 @ 2/1
Patrick Sarsfield 6.30 @ 10/3
Tonto’s Spirit 2.25 @ 6/4
Selected Nottingham – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.30 The most appealing is Norman Kindu who won well at this trip and ground at Wetherby and the 3rd horse has run well since . All of the others have it to prove on the ground and trip and the tip is only 3 pounds higher and unexposed as a stayer and can be forgiven a poor run next time in the Wetherby mud .
½ pt win Norman Kindu @ 3/1
2.05 PREMIUM RACE
2,35 Hard to rule many out of this small field competitive sprint but the fav in Crimson Sand still has a bit to prove on turf . Faustus went close over C&D a few starts back and gets the nod in a tough race to call.
¼ pt win Faustus @ 8/1
3.10 A weak event and looks a match between recent winner Like Sugar and the consistent if luckless Puckle , who remains on a good mark and no issues with ground and probably C&d and is preferred over her chief rival who’s higher in the weights for a gutsy win on the all weather and a bit to prove on quick turf .
½ pt win Puckle @ 5/2
3.40 Frankie Dettori comes here just for the one ride which is a tip in itself for recent Windsor winner Sevenal but his opening mark isn’t generous . The lightly raced George Morland has done little wrong in two starts and went close to carrying the penalty last time and on a good mark on the strength of that run and this longer trip should suit .
½ pt ew George Morland @ 13/2
Selected Ayr – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.13 The only one with experience is Red Power , a good 4th on easy ground on debut but I prefer a play on newcomer Manaccan, who didn’t come cheap , is well related and the stable has a good record here making the 720 mile round trip .
¼ pt win Manaccan @ 10/3
1.45 PREMIUM RACE
2.18 It’s very weak and the reliable Greengage is the fav , but she’s up a lot in the ratings and trip .
2.50 The fav is the consistent late playing Dr T J Eckleburg but has a bit to prove on quick turf and in an uncompetitive race , track regular Royal Countess has solid claims .
¼ pt win Royal Countess @ 4/1
3.23 Not an overly deep handicap and a chance can be given to the back to form Saisons D’Or . Things didn’t go his way at Wetherby last time but an early lead is up for grabs and is tough in the finish.
¼ pt ew Saisons D’Or @ 9/1
3.55 The prolific Gunnerside has no penalty and will be hard to beat again .
½ pt win Gunnerside @ 6/4
4.25 Global Honour goes for the hat-trick but was all out over C&d last time so the 3 pound hit could test . Harvest Day comes here on the back of a demolition job in the Musselburgh mud but is penalised and of course quicker ground today . Class Clown ran well for a long way over C&D in a better race and makes longshot appeal.
¼ pt ew Class Clown @ 14/1
Selected Cartmel – good to firm on this very sharp track
1.20 PREMIUM RACE
1.55 The former useful flat horse Alqamar won well over hurdles last time and the opposition is modest . but well odds on .
2.25 The prolific Treshnish could well struggle away from his beloved Hexham on this totally different track off a career high mark and despite the 6 pound hit for a recent C&D win , Tonto’s Spirit was terrifically determined in winning and there was a long way back to the in form 3rd horse , and the double looks on .
½ pt win Tonto’s Spirit @ 6/4
Selected The Curragh- good to soft on this undulating , galloping and stiff track .
5.30 A valuable Group 3 sprint for mares and the one to beat at the ratings is the in form Sonaiyla , but the wide draw looks an issue and has let the side down before presented with a similar golden chance . Preference is for another of the higher rated fillies in Lustown Baba who has a good race make up for a hold up type with a couple of front runners and runs this track well .
¼ pt ew Lustown Baba @ 6/1
6.30 A valuable Listed race , but not overly competitive and the short priced fav is Lough derg who’s had a rear view of Derby Fav Bolshoi Ballet in both starts this season , which is no disgrace but has 9 pounds to find with the classy Patrick Sarsfield , massively progressive and frequently hitting his lofty mark of 113 . Effective running fresh and at this track and looks a good bet ,especially at the odds.
½ pt win Patrick Sarsfield @ 10/3
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
4.35 An odds fav in Godophin’s Manobo , successful on debut and creating a good impression but does switch to all weather and goes up in trip . Preference is for the lightly raced Goolwa, successful over C&D recently and won with plenty in hand .
¼ pt win Goolwa @ 6/1
5.40 Not a deep handicap at all and understandable that the lightly raced and in form Mr poy is a warm order after a good 2nd over C&d last time , but up 3 pounds . Tipperary Jack has been given a chance by the handicapper and things just haven’t panned out for this late player , but with a good pace likely , looks a nice ew play under James Doyle .
¼ pt ew Tipperary Jack @ 7/1
6.10 Beheld was just chinned at Newbury recently on easy ground but the winner has done little for the form and switches to all weather tonight . Bakersboy form is a little in and out so in an uncompetitive heat , a chance can be given to Mr trick , proven on the surface and trip and form good enough.
¼ pt ew Mr Trick @ 6/1
6.45 Another uncompetitive maiden and one with good form in the book is Roschelli , but the recent comeback spin was a shocker and the short priced fav thaler was 2nd to a decent sort but in practically a 2 horse race , so hard to get carried away with the form . Worth a try on the Godolphin newcomer Storm Damage .
¼ pt win Storm Damage @ 10/3
7.20 PREMIUM RACE
7.50 Renaissance Rose looked handy when winning over C&d and on a fair mark in a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Renaissance Rose @ 4/1
Selected Ripon – good ground on this undulating and sharp track .
5.50 Tricky opener as all of these juveniles have little experience, if any . He’s A gentleman was a costly purchase and did pretty well on debut in the Ascot mud and better ground likely to suit.
¼ pt win He’s A Gentleman @ 4/1
6.20 A very uncompetitive heat and the fav is recent easy Kempton winner Ariel but has a stiff penalty , is up in trip and of course switches to turf . Elusive Spirit has showed enough to land a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Elusive Spirit @ 4/1
6.55 After a smart win over C&D Tees Spirit lost little in defeat at Donny , failing narrowly , with a long way back to anything else . The 4 pound hit will test but Thin Blue Line needs softer as does Impeller and General Song is only on a fair mark and is not progressing . Good chance for the tip .
½ pt win Tees Spirit @ 5/2
7.30 A fiercely competitive Class 3 handicap full of in form types ,many of which are proven over this tricky C&D. The fav is the prolific Commance Falls, but it looks very much as if the handicapper has caught up with him and present mark too tough and this C&d wont be ideal . A strong pace is assured with Bossipop and Flying Pursuit sure to get busy early ,but both would prefer softer ground and both are a bit high in the weights . The strong gallop is very much in the favour of Citron Major, who’s dropped to a good mark and the drying ground very much in his favour . The in form Mark’s Choice has a terrific record and is feared.
½ pt ew Citron Major @ 11/1
8.30 A winnable finale and the drying ground wont help the form horses in Harrogate and Lucky Beggar , and both are high enough in the weights anyway . Thrilla in Minila showed flashy pace last time front running and the drop in trip could be the answer and he’s well handicapped .
¼ pt win Thrilla In Manila @ 5/1
