Mutamaded 2.25 @ 11/2
Giovanni Change 3.00 @ 9/4
Sealed Offer 4.10 @ 3/1
Storting 2.35 @ 7/2
Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track
1.10 The useful Camprond has quite an engine despite not being the most fluent of jumpers , his class should get him home @ 1/9 ! but wouldn’t be a massive shock if C&d winner Sufi ran him close .
1.40 Not a deep race and recent easy track winner is a warm order to double up , despite the hefty 8 pound hit and going up in trip as he remains unexposed , but not for me at cramped odds .
2.15 This has a very winnable look to it and worth being with the front running Mercian Prince , who should have his own at the head of affairs and while he’s more of a chaser his hurdles form stacks up well . Returns from a break and form running fresh is patchy but still worth a nice bet considering the opposition all carry negatives .
½ pt ew Mercian Prince @ 10/1
2.50 South Terrace ran a cracker last time being narrowly denied and is on around the same mark, but is a bit of a weak finisher and preference for the lightly raced Callum Gilhooley , who recently returned from a Winter break with a solid effort . On a workable mark and longer trip could see him in even a better light .
¼ pt win Callum Gilhooley @ 10/3
3.25 The drying ground wont help the penalised High Noon but is fine for C&d winner Going Mobile , who has nothing to fear from Hurricane Vic on that run and has been holding his form pretty well since and back on a winning mark .
½ pt win Going Mobile @ 5/2
4.00 Not a deep race and despite a nudge up the weights for only coming 2nd , Six One nine has little to beat .
½ pt win Six One Nine @ 15/8
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Catterick – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
1.20 The clear form horse is Instinction , who after winning her maiden as she wished, lost little in defeat when a close 5th in a hot Listed race next time running to a good level . Not that well drawn and this is not a happy hunting ground for trainer Bryan Smart , but she should be far too good .
½ pt win Instinction @ evens
1.50 Emerarati Dirham has run two most solid races over C&d of late and is far better drawn today. Expect a prominent ride and this could finally be his day .
¼ pt win Emirati Dirham @ 7/2
2.25 The fav is Competition , a facile winner at Leicester on easy ground last time in a modest seller and the quicker ground and tighter track could be his undoing . Mutamaded ran an absolute belter over C&d a few starts back when chasing home the prolific Wise Eagle , he flopped badly next time when a warm order and his latest lesser run can be forgiven as it was on soft ground. If back to his best , this should be easy .
½ pt win Mutamaded @ 11/2
3.00 An interesting maiden as Sans Pretention , who is with a top Southern stable brings the best recent turf form but there are a couple of useful hurdlers in the field in Mrs Hyde, who has been under a cloud of late and the front running and very much in form Giovanni Change and could be too tough for these .
½ pt win Giovanni Change @ 9/4
3.35 The bang in form Pearl of Qatar has a bit to prove on fast ground , the mark and track while Music Society has let the side down too often , Praxeology is in top form and has good form here and on a quick surface and gets the nod . Freedom Flyer is hard to catch right but does has some form making him a lively longshot but with the front running tip .
¼ pt win Praxeology @ 9/2
4.10 Lead Story struggled back on turf last time and clear preference is for Sealed Offer , who has the form to win this and the young trainer has made quite an impact this season.
½ pt win Sealed Offer @ 3/1
4.50 recent winner God of Dreams could struggle on quicker ground and a penalty and despite the wide draw clear preference is for the lightly raced Motawazzy , an excellent 2nd last time in a far better race .
½ pt win Motawaazy @ 11/2
Selected Epsom – good ground on this sharp, undulating and tricky track
2.00 The favs are Dairerin and Flaming rib , who both bring the best form to the table but both achieved these ratings on soft ground . Dusky Prince won very well on quick ground at Brighton , so this track should suit well.
½ pt win Dusky Prince @ 13/2
2.35 The short priced fav is the lightly raced Irish admiral but the drop in trip wont help, especially on this speed track, despite having a good race make up with a strong gallop likely . The lightly raced Storting landed a hot event last time at Thirsk beating some progressive rivals, He’s unexposed as a fast ground miler and could be up the 5 pound hit .
½ pt win Storting @ 7/2
3.10 The Group 1 Coronation Cup and the short priced fav is the much improved Al Aasy, who’s landed both starts this season in great style . He’s a hold up type and hardly has an ideal race make up with no front runner in the field and this could be tactical and slow . Mogul is perhaps the one most likely to set the dawdle and kick on for the shock .
¼ pt win Mogul @ 5/1
3.45 Quite a lot of pace in this which will help strong stayers and late players. The Fav is Blue Cup, a big disappointment last time and first time hood not a positive for the stable. At the odds I’m with the tough and consistent Kaleidoscope , still on a workable mark , ground fine and she can go with the pace and see this trip out well .
1/2pt ew Kaleidoscope @ 18/1
4.30 The Oaks and it’s a race never easy to solve with the majority trying this trip for the first time and of course this track doesn’t suit every horse, especially relatively inexperienced fillies. You could make a case for many and the maestro Aidan O’Brien runs three, and his number 1 pick is the lightly raced santa Barbera , a beaten fav in the 1000 Guineas and the trainer has made it public how highly he rates the filly and on breeding should stay well . He also runs Snowfall and Willow and as his Number 1 doesn’t always deliver , this pair can’t be discounted . I’m with a real longshot in Technique a good 2nd here in a Class 1 event and every chance of staying this trip . Could be a shock winner .
¼ pt ew Technique @ 66/1
5.10 Mehmento has the best form and this front runner is the one to beat but not for me at evens .
5.40 Dulas has been much improved since front running and is only 2 pounds higher for his recent win and on this ground can confirm form with Lord Rapscallion .
½ pt win Dulas @ 10/3
Selected Goodwood – good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
5.25 An amateur riders race and few come into this in great form, the exception is the well handicapped Spirit Warning , who finally responded with a drop in the ratings with a narrow defeat at Brighton last time . Slightly longer trip no issue but wide draw an issue as is the inexperienced rider , but still preferred in a winnable heat .
½ pt win Spirit Warning @ 5/1
6.30 Another race where most are hard to fancy . The fav is recent shock winner Be prepared but the penalty , quicker ground and switching to a speed track all against him. Amathus is 2 from 2 at this trip on quick ground and only 2 pounds higher for landing a Salisbury sprint coming off the pace and is also proven on speed tracks . Looks a nice bet .
½ pt win Amathus @ 11/2
7.00 Bimble very much had the run of the race from the front last time over C&D but that is unlikely tonight .Operaratic returns from a long break but is far from out of this. Isabella Swan has sluiced home in her last two runs , both at Bath and looks a filly on the up for her good stable . She’s up a stiff stone and this is a very different track from Bath but this has a winnable look to it and worth a dabble .
¼ pt win Isabells Swan @ 8/1
7.30 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Bath – good to firm on this sharp but stiff track
7.10 Crystal Casque is an ultra consistent mare who comes here in her usual good form and gets the nod in a tricky event .
¼ pt win Crystal Casque @ 11/4
7.40 A good pace is on the cards with a couple of front runners which will help the late players . Track specialist Bay watch is tactically versatile and did pretty well on his comeback spin off this testing mark but preference for Beverley specialist Ginger Jam , who has come a long ay for this and the stable has tasted success at Bath before. The tip did well on his comeback spin and should be well suited to this stiff finish .
½ pt win Ginger Jam @ 5/1
Selected Donny – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.53 PREMIUM RACE
6.53 This is highly winnable and the hat-trick seeking Kingmania is the one to beat despite the hefty 8 pound hit after her win at Leicester, a much stiffer track than here and before she got herself organised was a bit outpaced before putting the race to bed. Against stiffer opposition she could be opposed but is the likely winner but not for me at 5/6 .
7.23 PREMIUM RACE
7.53 PREMIUM RACE
8.23 The fav is Her Majesty’s Evaluation , who only has fair form and I much prefer the chance of the lightly raced Silver Gunn a smart winner at Yarmouth on quick ground and the 5 pound hit could well be in this unexposed runner’s range and this C&d should suit fine .
½ pt win Silver Gunn @ 3/1
