Devils Cub 8.30 @ 3/1
Selected Leicester – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
1.00The David Evans 2yos are going very well and I was with his Bastogne in what looked a winnable heat at Windsor and he was very well backed but got outpaced at that quick track but finished well which suggests this stiffer track will suit . This looks a deeper race with some top stables having runners , but experience counts for plenty and gets the nod .
¼ pt win Bastogne @ 11/4
1.30 The odds on fav is Healing Power who is well clear on the ratings and until recently was most consistent and always ran his race, but that can’t be said about his last two runs with disappointing runs and has his first ever run on turf . The opposition is poot but Luckyangel ran a cracker here on debut last season and had excuses in her other two runs. Worth a dabble .
¼ pt win Luckyangel @ 10/1
2.00 This is wide open and very hard to rule anything out entirely so I’m with the outsider In Otyrar , whose form is certainly good enough to get involved .
¼ pt win Otyrar @ 12/1
2.30 A Class 3 event and the odds on fav is Highest ground who has a clear buffer on official ratings , but last two runs have been very disappointing . Clear preference is for the front running , in form , C&d winner Outbox , likely to make every post a winning post .
½ pt win Outbox @ 5/2
3.00 Quite a few big stables race newcomers in famous colours but this could go to Fifttyshadesofred , a much improved 2nd on his comeback spin at Yarmouth , racing as this stiffer track would suit. Dancing to Win brings good form to the table but has been raced exclusively on soft ground !
¼ pt win fiftyshadesofred @ 10/3
3.30 This has a winnable look to it with Cruyff Turn too high in the weights and would prefer easier ground, as would the reliable Wolflet .Moretti landed a good win at Newcastle on the tapeta but is effective on quick turf and worth a dabble against vulnerable rivals . Top Secret had some useful form last year and is feared .
¼ pt win Moretti @ 9/1
4.00 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Lingfield – 1st 3 races all weather – polytrack – last 4 turf , good ground on this undulating and sharp track .
1.45 Yet another Mark Prescott 3yo about to rattle off a sequence with Yagan , who is 2 from 2 this season , but both wins on turf and up a stiff 6 pounds , but has won both of his races well and this front runner could well have more to offer . The 2nd fav is Keeper , who runs in the Frankel colours but hasn’t pulled up any trees in 3 maidens but this is much easier . The ultra consistent Blue Beret has yet to strike but always runs her race and this C&d should be fine .
½ pt ew Blue Beret @ 9/1
2.15 After a facile win at Leicester , when very well backed, The Vegas Raider was odds on to land a modest Beverley handicap but was a well beaten 4th off the 6 pound higher mark . and runs on synthetics not great , so hard to be with him today . A change of tactics did the trick for Golden Claim who did very well to give them all a start and a beating from the worst of the draw at Chelmsford City off a 4 pound lower mark and has been unlucky in the draw again but still preferred . There are a number of dark horses from good stable going handicapping for the first time.
¼ pt win Golden Claim @ 11/4
2.45 The fav is the capable Tie a Yellowribbon , who ran OK on his comeback spin , but a bit short in the market given his poor win record . The front running Trepidation has won twice of late and has held his form well off his new mark. He’s likely to be untroubled up front and from an Ok draw can make all .
½ pt win Trepidation @ 9/2
3.15 The longer trip on turf is hardly ideal for the poorly handicapped Spurofthemoment while both Triggered and Strong Power have both become hard to win with and not really getting any closer . Kingholm ended last season with 2 wins and a 2nd, but all on the all weather and returns to action off a 3 pound higher mark . Recall The show landed a double at Brighton recently and can be excused a lesser run next time on easy ground at the stiff Leicester . He’s proven on this kind of track and off a 4 pound higher mark, could possibly nick this from the front .
¼ pt win Recall The Show @ 6/1
3.45 A weak maiden and it should be the double for Exuding who impressed winning at Redcar on his debut and not much to beat here . Adaay To Remember seriously outran his long odds on debut , but it was on soft ground .
4.45 A low grade sprint handicap for the finale and the fav is the in form Shecandoo , but she has a rare try on turf and badly drawn , as is the consistent Katherine Place . Louis Treize has plummeted in the weights despite showing some Ok form of late . He’s never been so low in grade or the ratings and from a good draw, could find himself back in the Winner’s Circle .
¼ pt win Louis Treize @ 4/1
No service for Ireland today
Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.30 Amor De Mi vida won very nice last time but at the stiff Salisbury on easy ground so tonight’s track and ground wont help at all . It’s not a deep race and the nod goes to Mister Bluebird a C&D winner a few starts back off a slightly lower mark .
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 This has a most winnable look and looks good for the prolific Goldie Hawk , a close 2nd off a slightly lower mark over C&D on quick ground given her usual prominent ride and as her rivals are usually played late , could also get a soft lead and they may well not get close to her .
¾ pt win Goldie Hawk @ 6/5
8.30 Despite the big field , few come into this with high hopes and the consistent Devil’s Cub has good claims from a god draw. He’s a little high in the weights now but should get away with it dropping in grade . The in form Gone Mod could well fund the drop in trip against her .
½ pt win Devil’s Cub @ 3/1
Selected Ponty – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
6.15 PREMIUM RACE
7.15 PREMIUM RACE
7.45 The coast is clear for the enthusiastic front runner Bit of A Quirke to set the pace and has run well here before. Puckle finally got back on the scoresheet last time and despite the nudge up the weights this stiffer circuit will suit and Broken Rifle did well on a rare turf run at Bath to give him a good shot , but the front runner could be given too much rope and is tough in the finish .
¼ pt win Bit of A Quirke @ 9/2
