We had a right old sweat on yesterday with the first 2 winning @ 9/1 & 16/1 but the final runner had an unlucky run and just missed out on the frame . Maybe better luck today
The Fortune for a fiver
50p ew Trixie & 50p ew treble
Magic River 3.55 @ 8/1
Enough Already 4.40 @ 8/1
Oud Metha Bridge 5.10 @ 8/1
The Delicious Double
Josie Abbing 2.45 @ 2/1
Sir Rumi 3.45 @ 9/4
Selected Fontwell – good ground on this sharp track
1.00The odds on fav is Kimmins but her 2nd in a small field at Aintree is nothing to write home about as the close up 3rd horse is most modest . Both of her rivals have to be taken seriously and are hard to split but despite carrying a penalty and switching to a speed track , Wilderness can outstay them over this trip .
¼ pt win Wilderness @ 2/1
1.35 Bright Eyed Eagle was pretty good on the flat but hasn’t set the world alight over hurdles and opening mark not generous . Light In The Sky stepped up on previous with a good 2nd over C&D in a deep novices event and nicely weighted on that effort .
½ pt win Light In The Sky @ 2/1
2.10 The stiff penalty and the quicker ground are both against recent Perth soft ground winner St Lawrence Gap and as En Coeur is just too high in the weights and the hard to win with Hold Me tight goes up to a trip which tests his stamina. The consistent Episode looks good for another win .
½ pt win Episode @ 4/1
2,45 Mystic Court ran well in his hat-trick bid off his new high mark but did get the run of the race from the front which is unlikely today in this winnable heat . Josie abbing hasn’t been with the McPherson stable very long and sluiced in over C&d last time , giving them all a start and a winning comfortably and the 5 pound hit unlikely to stop her .
¾ pt win Josie Abbing : 2/1
3.20 Nasty little race
3.55 Joey Steel and Krujers Girl are both in top form but both prefer a little juice in the ground and both are now high in the weights . Magic River got it right good style in a small field at Wincanton , leaving rivals in his wake for a wide margin win and can be forgiven a much lesser effort last time on soft ground in a marathon .This isn’t a deep race and looks a very nice ew play .
½ pt ew Magic River @ 8/1
Selected Haydock – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.25 The fav is the consistent if frustrating Mellow Magic , who’s run well in all 3 races and brings the best form to the table but is looking one paced in the finish so this speed track on fast ground could catch her out . Mandoob was immensely impressive winning on debut on the Lingfield polytrack , when flying home in the short straight , making up 5 lengths running to a good level at this trip and despite the penalty , looks an exciting prospect .
¼ pt win Mandoob @ 11/4
2.35 The odds on fav is Albahr , a good 3rd on debut at York and the form has been boosted and should relish the longer trip but at the odds I’m trying newcomer King of York , who runs in famous colours and connections had to go to £370,000 to secure him as a yearling , a jump 0f £80,000 on his foal price. May prefer softer ground but I like the odds .
¼ pt win King of York @ 6/1
3.10 All of Pivoine, Highwaygrey, Wait Forever and Chichester are running very well but all are hold up types while morisco is not really firing of late but too well handicapped to ignore. The likely leader is satomo Japan, who has a touch of class about him and could well set a sedate gallop under Ryan Moore and quicken off the front .
¼ pt win Satomo Japan @ 7/2
3.45 This will take little winning and looks good for the lightly raced but already useful Sir Rumi who was an all the way winner at Nottingham on quick turf and lost nothing when beaten by a progressive sort at this trip on polytrack .He likes to lead but showed at Nottingham that he can win without leading all the way . On a fair mark and Ryan Moore rides.
¾ pt win Sir Rumi @ 9/4
4.20 All three of these 3yos won well last time but Oceanline was very well backed and won as he liked and the 6 pound penalty could well undervalue that performance .
½ pt win Oceanline @ 6/5
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.50 It’s not a deep race and the clear form horse is Twice as likely , who is a hold up type but may not be seen to advantage In a race short of early pace but very nice odds in a winnable heat and just hoping a couple of the outsiders make an early bid for glory setting it up nicely for the tip .
½ pt win Twice As likely @ 10/3
3.00 A most unappealing race and recent winner Go On Gal is 4 pound higher for a win in a modest heat in the Catterick mud and hard seeing her doubling up . Critique is consistent but it’s all on the all weather while Mahanakhon Power is a weak finisher . Glencoe Boy ran well on quick turf at Leicester last time in a better race and this easier track will help this longshot .
¼ pt ew Glencoe Boy @ 16/1
3.35 Another race which is thee for the taking as the majority of these are usually seen on the all weather . Dubai Emperor has been doing all of his best work late on in quite deep maidens and this longer trip should suit well.
¼ pt win Dubao Emperor
4.05 Despite the big field . not a deep maiden and with Rabat going up in trip after a 3rd in a modest Redcar maiden and with Qurtajana better on soft ground , the path looks clear for the consistent Danni California to nab a deserved win after two good placed efforts .
½ pt win Danni California @ 7/4
4.40 Fox Power is threatening but would prefer easier ground while secret Moment has it to prove at this trip and mark while Goddess of Fire and Foreseeable Future both find winning tough . Enough Already did very well winning at Brighton coming from way back and the form looks good with the front three drawing clear and the 3rd horse going mighty close next time . He’s only 2 pounds higher and has run well on straight tracks before .
½ pt ew Enough Already @ 8/1
5.10 thomas Lanfiere goes for the hat-trick and is only 2 pounds higher for a smart win over C&D so has clear claims while the hard to win with Dr Jekyll is on a fair mark and capable of going close. Preference is for the downgraded Oud Metha Bridge , who goes very well here on quick ground and had been running respectably until finding Ponty in the mud all too much . Looks a very nice ew play.
½ pt ew Oud Metha Bridge @ 8/1
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
5.30 PREMIUM RACE
6.00 The odds on fav is Moshaawer who resumes duties after a 7 months break and brings easily the best form to the table with a close 3rd in the Newbury mud and the first two have done very well this year indeed but been off a while and of course switching to polytrack so prepared to take him on with the lightly raced Zuraig , who was well supported to beat a reliable yardstick and despite a penalty and switching to synthetics , looks pretty safe ew .
¼ pt ew Zuraig @ 6/1
6.30 PREMIUM RACE
7.00 The front running Arabic Charm goes for the hat-trick and his recent win was his best so far . He drops in trip and is up in the ratings, but this isn’t a deep race , but happy to let it go .
7.30 I was with Gavi Di Gavi over C&d last time , quite confidently , in a far better race but got involved in an early fight for the lead and ran his race prematurely . Best of the draw tonight and less competition for the lead , so worth a dabble .
¼ pt ew Gavi Di gavi @ 11/1
8.00 PREMIUM RACE
8.30 The massively consistent Brute Force certainly deserves a win for his sequence of placed efforts , one of which was over C&D . Been unlucky in the draw and a young 7 pound claimer rides, but will give it a good go and a nice ew play .
¼ pt ew Brute Force @ 8/1
Selected Hamilton – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track . Some heavy showers are forecast .
5.45 Considering Hard Solution won over C&d last season off a mark of 61, he was well entitled to land a similar big field event off a mark of just 48 and hadn’t been running terribly before them . The 4 pound hit could have been worse and with a good pace likely , this late player has a fine race make up and another positive is that he’s ridden by Matthew Ennis, who is 2 from 3 aboard the tip .
½ pt win Hard Solution
6.15 The odds on fav is Perfect Power a running on 3rd on debut on the Newcastle tapeta so preference is for Come quick , narrowly beaten on debut on quick ground at Ponty , so this C&d should be fine and the form of that ponty race has worked out well .
¼ pt win Come Quick @ 7/2
6.45 This looks between Coviglia, Paddyplex , Corndavon Lad and Twin Appeal and slight preference for the latter after responding to the drop in the ratings and grade with a very close 2nd at Thirsk but runs this type of track well .
¼ pt win Twin Appeal @ 7/2
7.15 Hot Team won well last time breaking a long losing run responding to the drop in the ratings and the step up in trip on a stiff track . He’s up a stiff 7 pounds and has 2 furlongs to travel, so a few uncertainties there but might just need the extra yardage and again run well . Euro Implosion bounced back to form winning in the Musselburgh mud but unlikely to follow up with a penalty and on quicker ground on a track he’s had no luck on before . Flood Defence did Ok over C&D a few starts back and the form is pretty good . He’ll need the showers to come to his rescue , but this is winnable .
½ pt ew Flood Defence @ 9/1
7.45 Iris Dancer has a tough task at the weights and very much needs the rain to come while The Gloaming won well on soft ground at Musselburgh but a bit to prove up in trip , especially here and another with ground issues . As Selected and Out the Hat aren’t firing presently and Royal Advice far more potent on tapeta, a good chance for The thin Blue Line , who is rarely far away , this C&D should be fine and is ground versatile .
½ pt win The Thin Blue Line @3/1
8.15 Both Call Me Ginger and George Bowen have run well over C&d of late but both are hold up types and both are struggling to get their nose in front. Equidae front runs and stays further and could just nick this from the front .
¼ pt win Equidae @ 3/1
