3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Tareekh 2.55 @ 10/3
Equally Fast 3.45 @ 9/4
Zuba 8.10 @ 9/4
Selected Sandown – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
2.10 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 Hard to get excited about the prospects of these and even the fav Russian Virtue has stamina to prove . The late playing Leroy Leroy has been holding his form well in lower grade but this late player is on a good mark, likes the trip and ground and has run well here before .Lovely longshot .
½ pt ew Leroy Leroy @ 16/1
3.55 As most of these either ply their trade on the all weather or softer ground / shorter trips, worth trying the consistent Greystoke , a recent winner on this kind of ground and can be relied upon to run is race .
¼ pt ew Greystoke @ 8/1
Selected Chepstow- good to firm on this undulating , galloping and quite stiff track
1.25 Order of St John came into his last race under a cloud and despite a plummeting mark was showing no sign of running any better, but it all came right at Nottingham on quick ground in an apprentice race , so has no penalty and the young 7 pound claimer keeps the ride and is preferred to recent Brighton winner Zulu girl , as she has a stiff penalty and it’s much harder to lead here all the way . Expect a patient ride aboard the tip and good chance of the double in a weak heat .
½ pt win Order Of St John @ 4/1
3.10 Quite a competitive handicap sprint and pretty easy to read as Bezzas Lad will endeavour to make all , and has done that before over C&D, but it came off a much lower mark and fast ground will test , as it will for another prominent racer in Airshow. Gilt Edge bounced back to form last time at Lingfield , beating a very useful yardstick , but the 5 pound hit will test as she can get outpaced but not totally ruled out and neither is Pastfact who was behind in that race , but badly drawn and not beaten far . I’m watching You landed a double on the all weather and did well on quick turf with a close 4th at Salisbury so should be suited to this C&D and expect a prominent ride and another good run . Grey Galleon is rarely far away but a most infrequent winner but down In grade and has run well here .
¼ pt ew I’m watching You @9/1
3.45 There was only a short head between Flip Mode and reliable veteran Equally Fast over C&D recently , but with a 5 pound pull and on quick turf , revenge very likely in a winnable heat .
¾ pt win Equally Fast @ 9/4
4.50 The fav is Sir Michael Stoute’s lightly raced Chai Yo Power, who goes handicapping for the first time but form is at best Ok . The consistent Topanticipation is preferred in a winnable finale .
¼ pt win Topanticipation @ 4/1
Selected York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.20 This has a very winnable look to it and despite a tough mark , the front running Howzer Black will run his race and could take a bit of catching on ground he likes .
¼ pt ew Howzer Black @ 9/1
2.55 A massive field for this valuable juvenile seller and I’m with the fav in Tareekh , who comes here on the back of a narrow win in a big field maiden at Thirsk on quick ground , beating a pair who were both well supported . The top stable rarely has runners in this grade and could be just too good for these .The in form Black Hill Storm did well last time and shapes like the extra furlong will suit , but you never know .
½ pt winTareekh @ 10/3
3.30 The most likeable Gale Force Maya is the fav but she’s now on a very stiff mark and the consistent Mid Winter gets the nod . Rarely far away and is proven on the ground and trip , which is more than can be said about the rest of the runners .
¼ pt win Mid Winter @ 7/2
4.00 On paper a match between the highly rated pair of Duke Of Hazzard ,who hasn’t win for a while, but has been keeping very hot company and in calmer waters today against the still highly rated Space Traveller who has run very poorly in his last 3 tries . Qaysar is useful but this hold up type is unlikely to get he strong gallop he needs and also much more potent on soft ground. The likely front runner is Azano , who could surprise, but happy to let this trappy event go.
4.35 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Goodwood- good to firm on this undulating , sharp and tricky track
5.50 PREMIUM RACE
6.25 Hard to weight up the majority of these as many go handicapping for the first time and many haven’t showed much . The reliable Uncle Dick ran well on quick turf last time at this trip and mark at Beverley ,and this easier track should suit .
¼ pt win Uncle Dick @ 3/1
7.00 It wasn’t the greatest race ever when Libertine Belle was 2nd at Lingfield on quick ground so has track and conditions to suit but I’d rather chance Liberty Bay who ran very well in her first ever race on quick turf at Leicester , when going a terrific gallop until the stiff track took its toll late on and this speed track should suit .
¼ pt ew Liberty Bay @8/1
7.35 The two with experience bring good form to the table but preference for Income over Prism as her run came on quick ground and bred for this longer trip .
½ pt win Income @ 2/1
8.10 Zuba has been unlucky here the last twice and a deserved win should be his in a winnable finale especially with Laura Pearson riding in a ladies race. He likes to get on with it , but so do others here but can be ridden patiently to effect and the jockey is smart enough to weigh up the gallop .
½ pt win Zuba @ 9/4
Selected Newton Abbot – good to firm on this flat and sharp track
5.30 This should be eazy peazy for recent winner Kilmington Rose and the odds are not bad considering .
¾ pt win Kilmington Rose @ 5/6
7.10 The classy handicapper Getaway Trump was running a mighty race at the Aintree Festival until taking a late fall and compensation awaits in a much lesser contest .
½ pt win Getaway Trump @ 6/4
7.45 Shortcross Storm has been much improved since switching to front running and went very close at Huntingdon in an Ok race , only worry is a rare pop on a left handed track .
¼ pt win Shortcross Storm @ 2/1
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Aintree – good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.45 There’s a stack of front runners in this and with it being a conditionals race, likely to go too fast too soon . Your Band didn’t do badly last time and ground and C&D should suit and a good jockey rides .
¼ pt win Your Band @ 5/2
6.50 Boughtbeforelunch has a stiff penalty and drying ground not in his favour while the trip is too short for Mance Ryder and the hold up type empire De Maulde has to prove stamina . I’m never keen being with horses who return from a long absence second time back as they often bounce but that form gives the well handicapped The Tourard Man a lively ew chance .
¼ pt ew The Tourard Man @ 12/1
7.25 PREMIUM RACE
7.55 This has a most winnable look to it and the veteran duke of Navan is still running to a good enough level to see these off and C&d and ground suit .
¼ pt win Duke Of Navan @ 4/1
8.30 At First Glance is knocking at the door but the quicker ground and the longer trip are against her . Catchmfyoucan ran well in a small field handicap last time but preference is for the likeable and consistent She’sasupermack , whose run well in this race before .
½ pt win She’sasupermack @7/2
