3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Nicholas T 2.00 @ 4/1
Coley’s Koko 8.15 @ 7/2
Atyaaf 8.45 @ 10/3
Selected Sandown – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
1.05 A tricky opener with the fav Run To Freedom looking good in his last two starts , but both were on the all weather, and only run on turf was a weak effort . Silent Film is rarely far away and this trip dropper is likely to utilise his stamina and try to lead all the way , entirely possible from a good draw. The admirably consistent Zoffarelli returns to the fray on a stiff mark and a bit to do on quick turf .
½ pt win Silent Film @ 4/1
1.35 PREMIUM RACE
2.15 A class 1 sprint and the worthy fav is the useful and determined Atalis Bay , who’s nicely drawn and should find this stiff C&D fine as he stays further . He is just best in at the weights ahead of the two Irish raiders, but Steel Bull continues to disappoint and could find this C&D too severe , especially from the worst of the draw while the 4 timer seeking Queen’s Carriage , does her winning on the all weather and on soft ground . expect the tip to be close up throughout and willingly stay the best .
¾ pt win Atalis Bay @ 13/8
2.50 The fav is the unexposed Latest Generation who is in calmer waters today in a handicap after competing in hot company the last twice. This race does have a winnable look to it and I’m with the tough and talented Don’t Tell Claire , who was given a gentle comeback spin and this track winner is very well drawn to outrun her odds.
½ pt win Don’t Tell Claire @ 18/1
3.25 King of Clubs goes handicapping on a very fair mark after his short head defeat by Sir Rumi , who won off 91 last time and the tip can run off just 85. Longer trip and stiffer track should be fine. Ensured sluiced in here last time but in the mud and a previous run on quick turf was nowhere near as good. Arqoob sluiced in last time and despite the penalty will be dangerous .
½ pt win King of Clubs @ 15/8
Selected Hexham – good ground on this undulating, stiff and galloping track
1.15 PREMIUM RACE
1.45 The clear form horses are Irish raider Homme D’Un Soir, who could have done better last time and the progressive The Wrekin , but neither have encountered a track like this before and wouldn’t be a total shock if there was a boilover .
2.20 The useful hurdler Chapmanshype won very well first time over fences but this is his first try on a stiff track ,so may well not be buying money .
2.55 C&d winner Ask Paddington put in another mighty run last time when a close 4th at Aintree , a track which wouldn’t play to his strengths and is reluctantly passed over in favour of Glinger Flame who is a perfect 4 from 4 here , and holds ask Paddington on C&D form . This hold up type will have a good pace to chase with novice Itsnotyouitsme sure to set the pace , but better ground not in his favour .
½ pt win Glinger Flame @ 8/1
3.30 The lightly raced All Hail Caeser comes here on a hat-trick and won here over fences last time , winning cleverly and despite the nudge up the weights , you can pick holes in the chances of his rivals .
½ pt win All Hail Caesar @ 4/1
4.05 The joint favs are the hat-trick seeking Gameface , an easy winner over C&d last time but it was on soft ground and carries a stiff 7 pound penalty , up against For Jim , a good winner over hurdles last time off this mark and a C&D winner off around this mark, but has also run some stinkers here. Shanroe Street won over C&D recently and this dour stayer will be appearing late and may just snatch it .
¼ pt ew Shanroe Street @ 6/1
5.10 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Bath – firm ground on this sharp but stiff track
1.20 Not a deep race and recent all weather second Opine has a bit to prove on quick turf . Decora was a smart winner at Salisbury last time on quick ground so this track should suit , but it wasn’t a deep heat and has a stiff penalty . Lady Elysia went mighty close at Brighton last time and this late player runs this track very well and is preferred .
½ pt win Lady Elysia @ 7/2
1.55 Symphony Perfect brings good experience to the table and C&d and ground should be fine .
½ pt win Symphony Perfect @ 6/4
3.10 Keeper’s Choice zoomed in last time over C&D but the 11 pound hit is massively severe while Greek Zodiac only won a seller last time. Born to Destroy is hard to win with but wasn’t beaten far over C&D last time and could surprise .
¼ pt win Born to Destroy @ 15/2
3.45 the front running Zulu Zander goes well here on quick ground and could surprise in a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Zulu Zander @ 10/1
Selected Chester – good to firm on this flat and sharp track where a low draw is a big advantage and front runners do well here.
1.40 A really tricky opener as only Eye of Heaven can be ruled out . I’m happy to skip this one as it’s hard to decide .
2.10 The consistent Fizzy Feet will struggle back on quick turf with her penalty and the draw could have been kinder while the in form pair of Music Society and Second Collection would do wonders getting involved from very wide draws. The consistent Look Out Louis is very well drawn but just a bit high in the weights and I prefer dual C&D winner Turanga Leela, who is running really well and not badly drawn for a prominent racer . Gabrial The devil is also a dual C&D winner and back on a winning mark but recent runs suggest he’s gone off the boil , while Glory Fighter is well drawn but finds this trip too far.
½ pt ew Turanga Leela @ 9/1
2.45 A very tricky handicap with hat-trick seeking Elhafei plenty to prove off a stiff mark and on much quicker ground and the hard to win with Arabist is also happier when the mud is flying . The front running Red Derek goes well here but is another with a preference for soft ground and a bit high in the weights, but should ensure a true run race . G for Gabrial has been going well since stepped up to this trip and this late player may just have the race run to suit . the prolific Monarez did well back on quick turf last time and is feared .
¼ pt win Go For Gabrial @ 9/2
3.20 Only 7 go and the bookies go 9/2 the field as it’s a right puzzle and there’ll be a battle royal for the lead with Oman , Love is Golden , Military Two Step and Glen Again all battling for early supremacy and all stay well but preference is for the latter who doesn’t have to lead to win . Classic Lord is high in the weights and this hold up soft ground lover is unlikely to get involved .
½ pt win Glen Again @ 11/2
3.55 Robjohn has done really well in all three runs and is clearly the one to beat on form but he’s a hold up type, not ideal for Chester . The well drawn Matty Two wasn’t beaten far in a big field Thirsk maiden given a prominent ride and a nice longshot seeing he’ll probably have to be caught .
¼ pt win Matty Two @ 7/1
Selected York – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.00 A race for lady amateur jockeys and a true run race should be on with the down in trip Byron Flyer likely to take them along ,but he’s getting no younger and wins are now hard to come by . Nicholas T ran well at this trip last time and loves quick ground and still on a most workable mark and I expect this late player to pinch this late on .
¾ pt win Nicholas T @ 4/1
2.35 The fav is the in form Dazzling Dan , but this looks a deeper race and at the odds I like the look of the capable Queen’s Sergeant , still on a fair mark and ground will suit.
¼ pt ew Queens Sergeant @ 8/1
3.05 Hard to rule out any of the four but significantly Frankie Dettori travels all this way for just one ride on C&D winner Red Verdon , who hasn’t been firing of late but well capable of landing this and Dettori’s presence is a tip In itself .
¼ pt win Red Verdon @ 9/2
3.40 PREMIUM RACE
5.25 I’m A Dreamer is rarely far away and despite a nudge up the weights will be as usual front rank throughout and could take a bit of catching with a host of recent winners now on stiff marks .
¼ pt ew I’m A Dreamer @ 10/1
Selected Leicester – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
6.15 The front running C&d winner Fred is still on a workable mark and can exploit a drop in grade .
¼ pt win Fred @ 7/2
6.45 This looks between the three last time winners as none of Foresee, Glencora and Feldspar are severely penalised and at the odds just prefer the former . Thunder Flash has stamina to prove and this stiff track will exploit any chinks but Loch Ness monster is actually getting closer with the drop in the ratings and may well not be far away .
¼ pt win Foresee @ 6/1
7.45 Legendary Day would do very well to double up with the stiff penalty and switching to quick turf . State of Bliss ran very well on his comeback spin off this mark at the stiff Beverley , so this C&D should be fine .
¼ pt win State Of Bliss @ 9/2
8.15 This will take little winning as Emerati Dirham is so hard to win with and this stiff track could well find him out and Ooh Is it is another long standing maiden with it to prove on quick turf . After landing a musselburgh handicap in style Coley’s Koko was far from disgraced off around this mark on the stiff Beverley , just beaten 2 lengths and the ones ahead have all done well since and last time he was drawn out of it at Redcar .. The very able Sebastian Woods takes the reins and 5 pounds off the tip’s back and looks the bet of the card . Expect a prominent and winning ride .
¾ pt win Coley’s Koko @ 7/2
8.45 Under Curfew was a surprise winner last time but the penalty and drop In trip makes the double doubtful . Cool Spirit zipped in at Musselburgh last time , but the 8 pound hit is severe and this is a very different type of track . Atyaaf finally responded to the big drop in the ratings with a running on 2nd at Newcastle and last time at Bath , on quick ground , switched to front running tactics and beat yesterday’s easy winner Equally Fast comfortably . The 5 pound hit will test , but he’s been rated higher in the past and could well lead all the way again .
½ pt win Aytaaf @ 7/2
Selected Worcester – good ground on this flat and galloping track
A special hello to four close and dear friends belatedly celebrating the very wonderful Richard’s 40th . His lovely wife Jane will be there keeping an eye on him and the lovely Suzanne will be doing the same for her husband , the excellent Robbie, Enjoy the racing and hope I can find you a few winners . Eat drink and be merry . Worcester will never quite be the same again ! John .
6.30 Cobra Angel landed a big field hurdle well at around this trip and on quick ground at Taunton but next time struggled on easier ground , He’s only 4 pounds higher for that smart win and the 2nd horse has run well to be 2nd twice since . this former pointer tries fences today which could be the making of him and in a race far more about quantity than quality , looks a most lively longshot .
½ pt ew Cobra Angel @ 11/1
7.00 Another winnable heat with the hard to win with Lies About Milan needing softer ground and the late playing Ebony Gale on a tricky mark but wont be far away . Preference is for the well capable prominent racing Diamond Brig who ran well over C&d last time when 4th , not beaten far and this could be his night .
½ pt win Diamond Brig @ 7/2
8.00 Chuvelo and Castel Gandofo are both last time winners but neither ran to this mark and drying ground another issue while the drop in trip wont help the hard to win with Wasdell Dunkirk . The front running Theocrat sluiced in at Taunton and didn’t do badly at Market Rasen with the very stiff 11 pound penalty as the longer trip just caught him out . He floundered on soft ground last time and has to be worth a nice bet at such long odds for his chance.
½ pt win Theocrat @ 20/1
8.30 The fav is Seinsational , an 89 flat stayer but hasn’t really done that great over hurdles and should have done better in his only try at around this trip .. Fat sam tried to make all last time but did a bit too much too soon over a longer trip , but did run well for most of the contest , worth a dabble in a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Fat sam @ 11/2
9.00 The once useful veteran Exitas was entitled to win last time off such a good mark but that his first sign of any form for some time and you just wonder if that was his swan song as the old legs may well not be so spritely just 4 days on . This isn’t a deep finale as the switch to hurdles and to quick ground wont help Krujer’s Girl so this is an opportunity for the lightly raced Dad’s Legacy , who was given too much to do last time at Uttoxeter but has been eased a bit in the ratings and with a more positive ride could be landing this.
½ pt ew Dads Legacy @ 6/1
