3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Thaayer 3.45 @ 3/1
Prince of Abingdon 3.00 @ 8/1
Water Iris 7.15 @ 7/1
Selected Nottingham – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.00The worthy fav is Last Hoorah , a very good 2nd on debut at Leicester on quick ground , so slight concern on this more benign track , but should get away with it . Naughty Nadine was a close 6th in a big field Thirsk maiden which has thrown up a few winners and at long odds , looks a nice ew play .
¼ pt ew Naughty Nadine @ 16/1
1.35 Found myself going round in circles with this right puzzle .
2.10 The lightly raced Fast Steps impressed winning well at Epsom and brings the best fast ground form to the table . Longer trip looks no issue but could have been drawn kinder .
½ pt win Fast Steps @ 5/2

3.55 PREMIUM RACE
4.30 A very open finale and to make it even tougher it’s for apprentice jockeys .A strong pace is assured as both the in form pair of Ghadbban and Steel An Icon both like to get on with it and at this longer trip , the pace is hard to judge for young riders and this pair could go a bit too quick too soon . The consistent Galidermes has stamina to prove so the nod goes to another consistent sort in Dereham, a close 3rd over C&D last time off this mark and quick ground .
¼ pt win Derehem @ 7/2
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta . The track is stiff and galloping
1.25 Yet another Sir Mark Prescott 3yo rattling up a sequence is The Tide Turns, but couldn’t land the treble when trying to make all off this mark at Chelmsford City , but only beaten a length so clear claims at a track where the stable does well. He’s a short price and I’m playing a longshot in the lightly raced Dansing Bear , who won at Wolver first time out , so handles the surface, but struggled on turf next time . The Southern stable has a pretty decent record here and worth a dabble at long odds in a race where few can be fancied .
¼ pt ew Dansing Bear @ 20/1
2.00 The clear form horse is Manhattanville , who is proven on the surface and trip but bit too short for me at evens in a big field maiden .
2.35 This looks very much a 3 horse war and the bookies are with Open Mind , but the drop in trip is a worry against a pair with decent form at this distance and at the odds I give Boondoogle the nod over Sharp Riposte .
¼ pt win Boondoogle @ 4/1
3.10 You can find more negatives than positives against all the runners but least baggage is carried by the capable if not totally realiable Crownthorpe , who goes very well here and has dropped to a good mark and improved last time when 2nd , but it was in the mud .
¼ pt win Crownthorpe @ 7/2
3.45 The front running Thaayer has a terrific record and comes here in top form and did especially well over C&D off this mar when pestered for the lead throughout but saw off challenge after challenge until getting chinned narrowly on the line . This is not deep and compensation awaits .
¾ pt win Thaayer @ 3/1
4.20 Few of these make any appeal at all and the nod goes to Lexington Warfare who had good form in the Autumn and recent comeback spins were Ok .
¼ pt win Lexington Warfare @ 9/2
4.55 The most likely winner is the in form Military Man with no issues with C&D or mark but short enough at 6/4 with a couple of dark horses competing .
5.30 This is wide open and slight preference for the lightly raced Ballintoy Harbour , a C&D winner first time out this season making all and not disgraced on turf since . On a decent mark and could take some catching .
1/4 pt win Ballintoy Harbour @ 8/1
Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track
1.50 Not much to go on but the short priced fav is Maybury after a good 3rd in the Woodcote at Epsom , but the race did fall apart and this is a very different test and there are a number of lightly race / newcomers from big stables .
2.25 The fav is the lightly raced Handsome who should appreciate the longer trip on breeding but preference for Spirit Mixer , proven at the trip , ground and a stiff track and stays on the same mark when a close 2nd at Salisbury .
¼ pt win Spirit Mixer @ 7/2
3.00 The fav is Akkeringa who was well backed to land a modest sprint at Donny, winning easily but the placed horses have done little for the form and up markedly in the ratings and grade . Prince of Abington knows how to win and remains on a competitive mark after splitting two very in form rivals in a Wolver sprint and has proved effectiveness on a stiff track and ground . This looks most winnable .
½ pt win Prince Of Abington @ 8/1
3.35 The prominent racing Subtle Beauty brings comfortably the best form to the table and ticks many boxes . She’s been unlucky not to have won already and can put the record straight today .
½ pt win Subtle Beauty @ 5/2
4.10 the lightly raced Amethysyt had to work very hard to land the hat-trick over C&D last time and the 4 pound hit will test this short priced fav . Fox champion was a classy sort for Richard Hannon and did very well on his first run for Ralph Beckett first time out this season on quick ground and can be excused a lesser effort on unsuitable soft ground next time . Worth a dabble.
¼ pt win Fox Champion @ 11/2
4.45 The hat-trick seeking Alabama Boy is looking ahead of the game and the penalty could have been worse . Talbot has run some good races of late and is bred for this longer trip so a nice longshot .
¼ pt win Talbot @ 11/1
5.20 Only a small field but the only one safe to omit is fibresand specialist Centurion Song . A strong pace is on the cards as all of these like to race prominently but the nod goes to recent C&D winner Benefit Street , still on a good mark and can dispute and keep it going all the way .
1/ 4 pt win Benefit Street @ 4/1
Selected Leicester – good to firm on this stiff and galloping track
5.45 This looks likely to be fought out between the pair of youngsters who both ran very well first time out , but the bookies make Private Signal a very short priced fav . I don’t see it that way and very much with Aswan , who overcame greenness to be a close 4th at Yarmouth on quick ground and the first two both did well at Royal ascot and the 3rd has won cosily at Haydock . This stiffer track should suit fine .
¾ pt win Aswan @ 11/4
6.15 PREMIUM RACE
6.45 Many of these are going handicapping for the first time and plenty are stepping up in trip, which takes a bit of getting here . The fav is Epidemic , shocking name for a horse all things considered and this one was turned over at Newmarket and far from sure to appreciate the extra yardage . The consistent Uncle Dick as usual wont be far away but a chance is taken with Tiki Fire , given a chance by the handicapper after a couple of Ok runs and this trip could suit .
¼ pt ew Tiki Fire @ 12/1
7.15 Another tricky contest with plenty of these going handicapping for the first time including Water Iris , who runs in famous colours but hasn’t hit the heights of two good runs on the all weather last season switching to turf , but fairly handicapped on her form this season and this stiff C&D should suit .
½ pt win Water iris @ 8/1
8.45 Katies Kitten sprung a 100/1 shock over C&d a few starts ago when going off at a rate of knots , left alone and had plenty left for the final push and hasn’t been disgraced in subsequent tries. She again is the likely leader and could take some reeling In .
¼ pt ew Katies Kitten @ 10/1
Selected Hamilton – good to firm on this undulating , stiff and galloping track. Rain is forecast for most of the night , so going very likely to soften up.
6.00 Inside Intel responded well to a drop in the ratings with a close 2nd off this mark over C&D last time and has a fine rider in Matthew Ennis is a race for amateur jockeys . He does handle a bit of cut and with it being the first race , ground should still be Ok .
¼ pt win Inside Intel @ 6/1
7.00 There are three confirmed front runners right across the track , so the draw shouldn’t be an issue . Lord Of The Glen won easily in the Musselburgh mud than carried his penalty well to be running on 2nd over C&d on fast ground . Nicely drawn in the middle and a nice race make up for a strong finisher .
½ pt win Lord Of The Glen @ 6/1
