3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Gin Palace 1.55 @ 6/1
Diligent Harry 2.20 @ 3/1
Spoof 5.40 @ 11/4
Selected Newmarket on this undulating ,galloping and stiff track
2.05 A Class 1 sprint for juvenile fillies and it’s quite a headache as many of these are 1 from 1 winning quite cosily so hard to be sure which one’s ahead of the game . George Boughey has a strong string of 2yos and had a pick of any number to contest this but has settled for Cachet , a very tidy winner on The Rowley course at this trip on debut and backed that up with a 5th of 15 at Royal Ascot in the mud, running to a good level and as he has the best form in the book will do for me. Interstingly, not a great deal of early pace about and longshot Blaast could have the run of the race and surprise, but does have stacks to find on form .
½ pt win Cachet @ 5/1
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.15 A good quality Group 3 and I’m with the back to form front runner Lord of The Lodge , who is bang there with the best of these at the figures and likely to get his own way up front . he likes fast ground and runs stiff tracks well .
½ pt ew Lord Of The Lodge @ 8/1
3.50 The short priced fav is the well related Sayyida,no issues wit trip or kind of track, but faster ground could be an issue . Franklet has the form at this trip to feature and fast ground is welcomed but I’m tyring By Starlight, a market mover last time at Goodwood , winning as she pleased and this lightly raced filly is with a top stable and may have turned the corner .
½ pt win By Starlight @ 8/1
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta, the track is stiff and galloping
1.45 An ultra competitive Class 2 sprint handicap and the early pace will come from Mountain Brave with quite a few snapping away at her heels and she’s unlikely to make all off her mark on this stiff C&D. The strong pace will aid the late players and I’m with the consistent if luckless Danzan , a big disappointment on quick turf last time but previously ran big races to be 2nd , one in a big field. He has form here and looks a lively longshot . Mondammej is talented if fractious and has run some big races of late , mostly at the minimum trip but is a C&D winner . Split stake .
¼ pt ew each- Mondammej @ 7/1 Danzan @ 14/1 , why not a small rev fc
2.20 A Group 3 sprint and best in at the weights is the useful Khuzaam , but a bit to prove down in trip . The only 3yo in the race is the prolific Diligent Harry who is 3 from 4 , including a win on tapeta and only defeat came when chinned by Wokingham hero Rohann , who won that race off 113 , and they were level weights when the tip was narrowly beaten so underestimated off is mark of 105 , which in itself is enough to be highly competitive in this . Expect a handy ride and a winning one .
¾ pt win Diligent Harry @ 3/1
2.55 The Nortumberland Plate Consolation and it’s perilously wide open but a clear chance can be given to Bellatrixsta, who’s been going well over hurdles since joining Venatia Williams , who showed she can train big winners on the flat as the stable landed the Chester Cup consolation with Green Book and that one was far from disgraced at Royal Ascot . The tip has winning form here off a lower mark and a shorter trip but as this prominent racer is all about stamina , looks likely to run a big race at nice odds.
½ pt ew Bellatrixtsa @ 8/1
3.30 PREMIUM RACE
4.05 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 C&d winner Ooh De Lally has found his niche in handicaps off around this mark finding Listed company just beyond him and really only has the impressive Red Mirage, 3 from 3 to beat , and that one has to prove effectiveness on a stiff track and tapeta.
½ pt win Ooh De Lally @ 4/1
Selected Windsor – probably good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.55 Not a deep opener and the fav Epic Endeavour does have a bit to prove off this mark and Cambridgeshire hero Majestic Dawn is on a very stiff mark for his comeback spin and this easy track likely to be against him . Gin Palace has been in good form of late responding to the drop in the ratings and this C&D has a fine chance today .
1/2pt ew Gin Palace @ 6/1
3.00 This should be easy peasy for useful 2yo Canonized and the odds are relatively big .
¾ pt win Canonized @ 10/11
3.35 A good quality Class 1 event and the drying ground wont help any of Century Dream,, Brentford Hope or Qaysar , offering a decent chance for the tough and talented Top rank .
½ pt win Top rank @ 2/1
4.10 Not a deep race and despite the very hefty 9 pound hit , flyin Solo won as he liked last time in a much deeper field and the hat-trick is on .
½ p t win Flyin Solo @ 7/4
5.20 Not a deep finale and aletoile posted a fine effort at Ripon last time , much better than her rivals can muster .
½ pt win Aletoile @ 3/1
Selected The Curragh – good ground on this undulating ,galloping and stiff track
3.05 Whatever crosses The Irish Sea in either direction has to be of interest , especially at long odds making Dukedom very much worth a play . He’s 2 from 2 , the form is pretty strong and this tough C&d looks likely to suit .
½ pt ew Dukedom @ 18/1
3.45 The Irish Derby and nothing wrong at all with the chance of Mojo Star , an excellent second in The Epsom Derby in just his 3rd ever race and first try at the trip and looks a cracking ew play and it could be a big day for the Richard Hannon stable , trainer of both of the Curragh tips .
½ pt ew Mojo Star @7/1
Selected Chester – probably good ground on this flat and sharp track where front runners do well as do low numbers in the draw .
2.45 The only certainty in this sprint handicap is that it will be run at a ferocious pace, with 6 of the 8 front runners ! The only exceptions are course winner , the well drawn Gabrial The Devil , likely though to find this trip too short and the luckless First Company , one of the highest rated maidens around at 96 , but is up to the mark and this could drop his way .
½ pt win First Company @ 11/2
3.20 The consistent Sibaaq is very well drawn for a front runner and will give it a right go from the front but slight preference is for recent course winner Master Zoffany , who did little wrong off this mark last time on desperate ground . Race could be set up to suit his late playing style .
½ pt win Master Zoffany @ 5/1
3.55 This should be a match between two decent juveniles , yet to strike winning form in Zoltan Star and Russellinthebushes , and little separated them over C&D recently . Both are well drawn but the former is certainly a trier and gets a confident vote .
¾ pt win Russellinthebushes @ 7/4
4.30 Quite an open race but the 4 timer seeking Elhaafi is in the form of his life and the 5 pound hit may not stop him backing up a recent win over C&d .
¼ pt win Elhaafi @ 7/2
5.05 The prolific Call My Bluff has a stiff penalty but looks likely to set the pace and is a tough cookie in the finish.
¼ pt win Call My Bluff @ 5/2
5.40 The pace in this sprint handicap will come the in form pair of Militia and Recon Mission but the well drawn and well handicapped Spoof served notice last time that a win was imminent and this late player is 1 from 1 over C&D.
¾ pt win Spoof @ 11/4
Donny Multi – 3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Zumurud 5.15 @ 4/1
Pockley 6.45 @ 3/1
Casili 7.45 @ 6/4
Selected Donny – probably good ground on this flat and galloping track
5.15 Muntadab goes well here and must be respected after toughing it out from the front to land a Ripon handicap and only 2 pounds higher tonight , but may well not get his own way up front . Zumurud comes here in top form as he’s entitled to as he was rated much higher last season . Nicely drawn and very able 5 pound claimer Laura Pearson takes the ride and is ground versatile .
¾ pt win Zumurud @ 4/1
6.45 A very winnable sprint and despite a slight drop in trip , the in form Pockley ran a mighty race last time when 2nd at York in a big field handicap and the 3rd horse only failed by a short head here yesterday . A deserved win looks very much on .
¾ pt win Pockley @ 3/1
7.15 The frustrating if talented Giogiobbo finally rewarded the faithful with a long priced win over C&d and backed that up with another C&D win yesterday and despite the 4 pound hit has to be competitive again . A good pace is on the cards and the strong finishing Devil’s Angel shaped up Ok back on turf and this slightly slower ground will suit and could surprise .
¼ pt ew Devil’s Angel @ 14/1
7.45 A weak finale and the front running Casili will take some reeling in
¾ pt win Casili @ 6/4
