3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Shining Aitch 1.20 @ 7/2
Myrsticka 3.40 @ 7/2
John Kirkup 4.25 @ 11/4
Selected Ayr – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.00The ease in the ground is far from ideal for the vast majority of these so worth a dabble on Cool Dandy , an easy winner at Carlisle on easy ground a few starts back . On a higher mark now and this is a very different type of track , but still preferred .
¼ pt win Cool Dandy @ 8/1
2.10 Hard to fancy the very hard to win with Must Be An Angel switching to turf and down In trip , while the double looks unlikely for Rose Bandit, with a big penalty and longer trip and softer ground no help. Muatadel responded well to the ease in the ratings last time with a win in a big field at Hamilton on good ground and is only 2 pounds higher . This is a very different type of track but has won on similar in the past and also on soft ground and this late player could well swoop for the double.
½ pt ew Muatadel @ 8/1
2.45 PREMIUM RACE
3.20 It’s a wide open sprint but the ease in the ratings and grade present the useful Troubador with a chance to get back on the scoresheet . He was a cracking 2yo and after a modest debut run , recorded 4 wins and 3 seconds in his last 7 runs . He drew a blank last year off a very testing mark and forced to race in hot company . His comeback spin was tame but much better last time and could strike off a most workable mark and track, easy ground no issue .
¼ pt win Troubador @ 11/2
3.55 The prolific Flying Moon has a good record here but the combination of a lift in the ratings, a longer trip and softer ground are all big negatives and would do very well to win again . Royal Regent is not getting any younger but has responded well to the big ease in the ratings and ran most respectably over C&d last time on ground plenty quick enough . The ease in ground is in his favour and shouldn’t be far away in a winnable heat as all 4 career wins have come here , 3 on soft ground !
½ pt ew Royal Regent @ 8/1
4.25 Be Proud is a much improved sprinter and only had to be pushed out to win over C&D last time but the hefty 6 pound hit wont help and neither will the easy ground. This is John Kirkup ground and this dual track winner comes here in good shape after a very good 2nd in a competitive Haydock heat in the mud . A few front runners can set this up nicely for him.
¾ pt win John Kirkup @ 11/4
Selected Nottingham – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.20 Not many come into this lady amateur jockey handicap with high hopes and a good opportunity for Shining Aitch , who did well last time when 3rd at Yarmouth , staying on well and has been eased in the weights , and that took his record in Class 6 to a win and a place in 2 tries ! He’s well drawn, wont mind the ease in the ground and is partnered by the excellent and evergreen Serena Brotherton.
¾ pt win Shining Aitch @ 7/2
1.55 Showdielad ran a cracker on easy ground at Salisbury but couldn’t back that up next time again on easy ground . Been given a nice break and cheekpieces a positive for the stable .
¼ pt ew Showdielad @ 8/1
2.30 PREMIUM RACE
3.05 The decent hurdler Givepeaceachance can compete on the flat on a very lowly mark and has been well punted a few times, but no success , but never far away . The switch to easy turf is no problem and this wont take much winning .
½ p t win Givepeaceachance @ 4/1
3.40 All of these have a chance at the weights but when you filter through the race looking for runners at their best on easy ground and this trip, Myristica comes out well on top and this C&d winner can go In again .
¾ pt win Myristica @ 7/2
4.15 Quite an open finale but Komore won cosily in easy ground at Salisbury , in a rare try at this trip and a nice ew play with a manageable penalty .
¼ pt ew KOmore @ 8/1
Selected Worcester – good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.45 The ease in ground is not in the favour of many but no issue with the in form Reve, a good 4th at Aintree on ground quick enough and this prominent racer will relish the easier ground and also a drop into Class 4 where his record stands at 3 wins and 2 places from 7 tries.
½ pt win Reve @ 5/1
3.30 It was back in February when the bookies were knocked down in the rush when the prolific Fire away was backed in from long odds to even money at Musselburgh and won without breaking sweat . Since then he’s won 3 times and was a good 2nd , his latest win came off 129, 31 pounds above that Musselburgh win ! but also has had a try over hurdles and ran to a very modest level over C&D on this ground which gives recent C&D winner Ultimate Getaway a great chance to double up with softer ground no issue .
¾ pt win Ultimate Getaway @ 13/8
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
5.15 Plenty of these have a bit to prove on their marks, trip and ground which makes the well handicapped Dorouyn worth a dabble after his latest effort suggested today’s test would suit.
¼ pt win Doryoun @ 4/1
5.50 The lightly raced Pinnacle Peak is a warm order to double up on his win at Southwell at around this trip but the stiff penalty, easier ground and more galloping track will all test .Get An Oscar doesn’t win many but is in Ok form , on a good mark , wont mind the ground or the track .
¼ pt ew Get An Oscar @ 6/1
Selected Windsor – very soft ground on this flat and galloping track
6.15 PREMIUM RACE
7.15 Clarendon House is 2 from 2 and despite those maidens not being the strongest is a short priced fav going handicapping what looks an ok mark and the sire an influence for mud lovers. A sure welcome is in top form and loves it here. He’s a bit high in the weights and ground may be a bit too testing but with the others having little to recommend them , worth a dabble .
¼ pt win A Sure Welcome @ 7/2
7.45 A modest middle distance handicap with little to go on . Stigwood is the fav after a reasonable run here over C&D but knight of Kings wasn’t far behind and was staying on well and soft ground could well suit on breeding .
¼ pt win Knight Of Kings @ 5/1
8.15 The clear form horse is the front running Hollywood Lady who was 2nd here last time in the mud and the drop in trip no issue. In a winnable heat, a deserved win can come her way .
½ pt win Hollywood Lady @ 5/4
Selected Ripon – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
7.30 Carrigilihy was an effortless winner at Ponty last time but a 6 pound hit on a much easier track could find him out and prefer a little dabble on Outback Boy whose form suggests he’s on a decent mark and could exploit it .
¼ pt win Outback Boy @ 11/4
8.00 A tricky small field handicap with Ridgeway a hefty 10 pounds higher for a demolition job at Lingfield, so a bit to prove regarding mark and ground . The ex-french Skycutter will like the ground but can only be watched first race for a new stable returning from a break while Bollin joan is a bit high in the ratings . Leopardo is a possible if handling the ground but the nod goes to confirmed mud lover Urban Violet whose run at Royal Ascot wasn’t a bad one .
¼ pt win Urban Violet @ 4/1
8.30 Cooperation ran an absolute belter at Royal Ascot finishing 7th of 19 on soft ground, just beaten a few lengths . He’s actually been eased in the ratings and can nail this winnable sprint .
½ pt win Cooperation @ 3/1
