3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Russian Rumour 2.10 @ 5/1
Fort de L’Ocean 5.20 @ 9/2
Nourban 7.05 @ 9/4
Selected Lingfield – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
1.35 The odds on fav who is 1 from 1 the win coming at Haydock on soft ground and the form is solid but I prefer a little play on Oceans Meet , who ran very well on his only race which was on the Newcastle tapeta , but bred for soft ground and worth a dabble .
¼ pt win Oceans Meet @ 8/1
2.10 There’ll be a few very tired horses after this 2 and a half mile slog in the Lingfield mud and none of these have ventured this far before but a few have given the indication they’ll keep going well enough . The fav is recent winner Tigerten , who likes the ground and could stay the trip but the steep penalty could catch him out . Russian Rumour shapes very much like an out and out stayer and wasn’t beaten far at Ponty last time just shy of this distance and on unsuitable quick ground. She could do with even deeper ground but her mark looks fine and certainly knows how to win. Ven Meeghan won well here last time but has a stiff penalty and goes up in trip by over a mile !
½ pt win Russian Rumour @ 11/2
3.20 A tricky sprint and chances can be given to all of Jessie Pye, Silver Nemo, Miss Trixie and Greycious Girl , who all handle soft ground and most have run well here before . The nod goes to the latter as the stable has a terrific record here in 3yo handicaps and Oisin Murphy rides.
½ pt win Greycious Girl @ 4/1
3.55 As he has no penalty for a Windsor win at this trip in the mud, Flip Mode is the one to beat , but has been uneasy in the market ,so just a dabble .
¼ pt win Flip Mode @ 9/4
Selected Uttoxeter – good ground on this mostly sharp and undulating track with a long galloping straight
1.20 The ex- French Pasqualita is interesting racing for David Pipe who does well with new intakes but preference is for recent Worcester 2nd Ginger Du Val, who made a right fist of going all the way in a competitive novice event and could well go one better today as All Clenched Up needs a longer trip.
½ pt win Ginger Du Val @ 5/2
1.55 The frustrating Percy’s word attempts to break his hurdles duck at the 8th attempt and has been 2nd 4 times ! He brings the best form to the table and the longer trip should be in his favour , but I can swerve at evens .
2.30 A big field and quite a few dark horses none more so than winning pointer That’s Me having his first run for Kerry lee and Go On Chez another successful pointer who’s joined a good stable but the consistent Lawtop Legend brings most solid form to the table and no issues with ground or trip and should get away with being a few pounds high in the ratings.
¼ pt win Lawtop Legend @ 10/3
3.05 The faster ground and track are serious issues for the admirably consistent All Hail Caesar and in an open race I give the nod to the late playing and consistent Faint Hope, still on a fair mark and shapes like he’ll stay this trip .
Faint Hope @ 9/2
3.40 Yccs Portocervo’s form after a break is uneven but made no mistake last time over C&D with an all the way win and the 3 pound hit could have been worse but is short enough in the market for one who carries a few risks. The veteran Princeton Royale took advantage of an ease in the ratings toughing out a win at Worcester and capable of being competitive off a 5 pound higher mark . He too front runs but does see his race out well . Siannes Star goes for the hat-trick after an effortless win last time, first try at this trip and has obvious claims .
¼ pt ew Princeton Royale @ 15/2
4.50 PREMIUM RACE
5.20 An open finale with all of Olympic Honour , Bempton Cliffs, surprise last time winner Pillar Of Steel, but can’t be ignored despite the steep penalty , White Turf , Brickadank and last time C&D winner Fort de L’Ocean all ticking plenty of boxes but the latter took advantage of a drop into this grade last time and beat a decent one in a close finish . The back to form veteran Throckley looks sure to struggle on drying ground .
1/2pt win Fort de L’Ocean @ 9/2
Selected Catterick – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
2.20 Not a deep maiden at all and the clear form horse is the ultra consistent Wee loch lass, who recently ran very well with a penalty . No issues with this type of track or soft ground and well drawn to probably try and make all. Slight concern about what on paper looks a good thing . She’s been off the track longer than usual and has been easy to back but still hard to ignore .
½ pt win Wee Loch Lass @ 5/2
3.30 The prolific Look out Louis is only 3 pounds higher for an all the way win at Chester last time and has run well here before and on this kind of ground and is preferred to the in form Cottam Lane , a bit to prove on the ground and this kind of track .
½ pt win Look Out Louis @ 7/2
4.05 There’ll be no hanging about in this with 4 of the 8 known for front running so ordinarily I’d be looking for an effective late finisher but with Shawaamekh so hard to win with I’m with one of the front runners in the bang in form Geometra Ginty , a c&d winner, likes the ground and ran vey well last time down in trip on quick ground .
½ pt win Geometra Ginty @ 6/1
5.10 A big field for this low grade race for amateur jockeys . Dream Point has a poor win record, but is In good company here and is the clear form horse after two big runs of late and no issue with trip or ground .
¼ pt win Dream Point @ 11/4
Selected Yarmouth – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.00 A very open handicap and many of these remain unexposed especially going handicapping up in trip and some top stables have runners in famous colours. You can make a case for many but I’m trying Mark Johnston’s Reams Of love a good 2nd to the prolific Wink of An eye who’s gone on comfortably land the hat-trick so a nice longshot off a lower mark .
¼ pt ew Reams Of love @ 11/1
5.30 The fav is Sassy Racal, but she has a bit to find on form and the drop in trip on a speed track wont help. Bailey’s Liberty went close on fast ground at Ripon last time so this track will suit and the form looks good with a long way back to the 3rd who brought solid form to the race.
½ pt win Baileys Liberty @ 10/3
6.05 Very much a match but even if Bake is fit enough to do himself justice would do very well to get the better of the consistent if luckless El Picaro, fine with trip, ground and track .
½ pt win El Picaro @ 8/11
6.35 A very competitive handicap for female jockeys but the consistent Dashing Dick , gets no help from the handicapper and this sharp 7 furlongs on quick ground could well find him struggling for pace. Noble Patron is looking hard to win with while the quick ground will test Super Over . Foreseeable Future goes well here on the ground and could surprise but I’m with the lightly raced Shamfizz an easy winner of a maiden over C&D last time in just her 3rd ever race and well weighted on that effort .
½ pt win Shamfizz @ 4/1
7.05 The John Gosden trained Emperor Spirit has it to prove down in trip on quick ground which presents the consistent Noorban with a good opportunity . She’s been holding her form very well and remains on a workable mark with c&d and ground in her favour . She’ll be played late and willingly .
¾ pt win Noorban @ 3/1
7.35 The lightly raced Cazeva Princess sprung a 33/1 shock over C&D last time in a big field and remains on a decent mark and could be the solution to this winnable sprint . The unexposed Love Baileys sluiced in also over C&D last time om quick ground but the 6 pound hit looks hefty .
¼ pt ew Cazeva Princess @ 6/1
8.05 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Wolver – all weather- tapeta
5.15 The veteran Exchequer was well backed to make an overdue return to the winners’ circle here down in trip and no issues with this distance and the 4 pound penalty could have been worse but not an obvious candidate to double up . Hachert runs this C&d well as does Peachy Carnehan but neither have been done any favours by the draw. The lightly raced Inexpicable won nicely over C&D a few starts back off just a 2 pound lower mark and looks a nice ew play on the strength of that from a good draw .
¼ pt ew Inexplicable @ 9/1
5.45 PREMIUM RACE
6.15 Power of Beauty brings easily the best form to the race with a good 2nd and is related to tapeta winners . The hugo Palmer stable has a cracking record with juveniles here and this well drawn filly looks a solid fav .
½ pt win Power Of Beauty @ 4/6
7.45 Not a deep contest and despite being a bit high in the weights we can expect a good run by track winner Ladywood and Joe Fanning is 3 from 3 aboard .
¼ pt ew Ladywood @ 7/1
8.15 The short priced fav is the consistent Almadrina but reasons to find one to beat her as she is up in trip , first time on the surface and couldn’t win off this mark last time, despite this not being a deep heat . I’m having a dabble on the lightly raced Poet’s Park who has OK form here and didn’t do badly on quick turf last time .
¼ pt win Poet’s Park @ 6/1
8.45 A very winnable finale as the clear form horse Alearotic is now high in the ratings and new to this surface. The in form Bird for Life is a dual C&D winner and both came off higher marks. She is very late player so will need the pace to be true, which may not happen but still think she’s a god bet in this field and has done well in quite steadily run races the last twice under tonight’s jockey Charlie Bennett.
½ pt win Bird For Life @ 4/1
