50p ew trixie & 50p ew treble
Ceci Wells 3.30 @ 12/1
Jessie Allan 2.15 @ 25/1
Dark esteem 7.35 @ 7/1
£1 trixie & £1 treble
Bonus 4.35 @ 7/4
Mafia Power 7.25 @ 9/4
Evasive Power 6.25 @ 2/1
Selected Newton Abbot – good ground on this flat and sharp track
1.30 All of Secret Potion , Vanderbilt and Gibralterian crossed swords here recently and all finished close up but at this slightly longer trip , the lightly raced tip gets the nod .
¼ pt win Gibraltarian @ 11/2
2.05 This looks very much a match between the determined and progressive Chez Hans and the in form Thahab Ifraj and they crossed swords recently over C&D and the tip has a 9 pound pull for a narrow defeat !
½ pt win Thahab Ifraj @ 11/8
2.40 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 PREMIUM RACE
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Ayr – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
2.15 An open handicap but the back to form Gleamoy’s recent 3rd came in a weak heat , so not getting excited by him . C&d winner Jordan Electrics remains on a good mark and comes here in good for, but he can’t take much racing and this could be a race too many, despite it just being his 3rd of the season. Jessie Allan sprung a 40/1 shock over C&d last time getting the better of a few of these with the in form Rebel Redemption just denied by a neck , and is 3 pounds worse off today but she has won off much higher marks , so has to be worth a tickle at such long odds .
¼ pt ew Jessie Allan @ 25/1
2.50 The prolific and progressive Greengage never got into the race on Saturday when upped in trip but previously was a cosy winner over C&D, beating a good one in Wise eagle and only 4 pounds higher today . The unexposed Ravenscraig Castle is the obvious danger but his recent smart win came off a lower mark , lower grade and much stiffer track .
½ pt win Greengage @ 11/4
3.20 Not a deep race and the consistent C&D winner Global Humor had little luck in the big field sprint at Musselburgh and hardly had a race and will be bang there again .
¼ pt win Global Humor @ 11/4
4.30 The back to form Clay Reggazoni has a stiff task drawn wide if attempting front running , off a higher mark and best form at the very different track of Hamilton . Plenty of these are regulars over C&D but both Coviglia and Caballero have become very hard to win with . Both Merricourt and Mi Capricho have excelled of late over C&D and the nodgoes to the former after a win in higher grade last time beating yesterday’s gutsy winner Tommy G .
¼ pt win Merricourt @ 9/2
5.00 Should be a breeze for Royal Jazz , but the bookies agree and she’s 4/6 !
Selected Lingfield – good to soft on this undulating and sharp track
1.55 A nasty opener as all of Be Fair, Harston , Wearitalldaylong and Crestwood are all in good form all proven on the ground and here , so looks a toss up if you have to play.
2.25 The softer ground may well not be in the favour of the short priced fav Handsome and this looks close to call between Maxine and Skytree but the former is a right mudlark, ultra consistent and longer trip should help .
¼ pt win Maxine @ 10/3
3.00 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 Ceci Wells belied odds of 200/1 when running a stormer over C&d last time in the mud when front rank throughout and never stopped trying . Nice longshot up against some professional losers , no matter how talented they are .
¼ pt ew Ceci Wells @ 12/1
4.35 Bonus demolished a similar field over C&D recently and one of those trailing in his wake was recent winner Mooshee , and a 2 pound pull wont be nearly enough to turn the tables on this mud lover .
¾ pt win Bonus @ 13/8
5.10 Vitaline won really well here in the mud last time and should follow up, but I can skip at even money
Selected Galway – good to soft on this undulating , galloping and stiff track
4.10 The short priced fav is the Aidan O’Brien trained Anchorage but he finished behind I Am Magic last time , not by very far , but at the odds has to be an ew play . Dermot Weld has a terrific record here and saddles the well bred newcomer while adonis showed promise on his debut too.
¼ pt ew I am Magic @ 11/2
4.40 The consistent Dagoda remains on this fair mark and should run her race and is a very nice ew play .
½ pt ew Dagoda @ 13/2
5.15 Mary Salone has done something that no other in the field can emulate of late, she’s actually won a race and that was actually off a slightly higher mark and has backed that up with two creditable efforts . Late player .
½ pt ew Mary salone @ 6/1
5.45 The short priced fav is Willie Mullins’ Mr Coldstone who has been going very well over hurdles and runs off a mark of 124 which is around 87 on the flat , so could be absolutely thrown in off a mark of 65 , but hurdling and flat racing are two different animals so at short odds prefer to look elsewhere . Powersbomb is another in form hurdler on a good looking mark switching to the flat and I’m trying him at long odds. Both the front running in form No Thanks and the prolific Merrior have clear claims .
¼ pt ew Powersbomb @ 20/1
6.15 PREMIUM RACE
6.45 A right old puzzle with so many in form and unexposed 3yos competing and you could have 10 picks and still miss.
7.15 A couple of useful jumps horses take their chances in this maiden , top of the tree is the 147 rated Zero Ten , which is 100 on the flat , if he can convert that while the prolific Duffle Coat is rated a lofty 133 while Elusive Rain was effortless winning a bumper in style and a back to form Beret Rouge would also be a contender but Anner Castle has been running to his lofty mark of 83 on the flat at around this trip and top amateur Jamie Codd rides .
¼ pt win Anner Castle @ 7/1
Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
5.25 There was money for the well drawn Dreams of Thunder on debut in a Class 2 over C&D and was only beaten a length by the useful Canonized and the 2nd horse ran well in a nursery yesterday off a mark of 82 . She was fav at Beverley last time but the soft ground and bad draw resulted in just an Ok 3rd . Far better expected today and as the fav Auditor unlikely to improve for the drop in trip . Good chance for the tip in quite a warm maiden .
½ pt win Dreams Of thunder @ 4/1
5.55 This is far less competitive than the opener and the short priced fav Dubai Jewel is certainly the likely winner but I can pass at the odds .
6.25 Evasive Power excelled in a far better race on Saturday , narrowly beaten by a couple of very reliable yardsticks in higher grade off his new mark, which looked too testing . He was a useful sort in Ireland so should continue to be competitive off this mark . In an ideal world he’d have the lead to himself but that’s unlikely , but showed on Saturday that he has all round tactical speed and will be hard to beat in a most winnable heat .
½ pt win Evasive Power @ 2/1
7.25 This will take little winning and the consistent Mafia Power can gain due reward for a good series of runs , including a narrow defeat over C&d off around this mark . Late player .
¾ pt win Mafia Power @ 9/4
7.55 The flying Just Glamorous has responded very well to the ease in the ratings with some big runs of late and could be hard to catch .
½ pt win Just Glamorous @ 7/4
8.25 You wont get rich waiting for the finale as the very solid fav is C&d winner Lisdarragh , and a close 2nd again over C&d , when there was 11 lengths back to the 3rd, and stays on the same mark . Looks one for those of you who like playing short odds .
¾ pt win Lisdarragh @ evens
Selected Wolver – all weather – tapeta
5.35 PREMIUM RACE
6.05 PREMIUM RACE
6.35 Tathmeen came from last to first last time over C&D off a strong pace but that’s unlikely tonight with so few front runners and another recent C&D winner Al asef , could suffer the same fate. Turanga Leela has s clear chance on her good form here and is a 5 time C&D winner ! but we have to forgive two tame recent efforts when she was entitled to do well .
¼ pt win Turanga Leela @ 15/2
7.05 The ultra reliable Frow is a 4 time C&d winner and the 3 pound rise shouldn’t stop him from running another good race despite the rise in grade., as the regulars In this grade aren’t impressing of late . I prefer a little play on the youngster Shaykhoon , a clear winner at Newcastle, so proven on the surface and did well to get as close as he did at Chelmsford City off this new mark .
¼ pt ew Shaykyoon @ 6/1
7.35 The consistent Major J still can’t land one and I’m with another maiden in Dark Esteem , who at least has gone close a few times including over C&D off a higher mark and holding his form well.
½ pt ew Dark Esteem @ 13/2
8.40 The fav is the bang in form hurdler Hurricane Ali, who has experience here off higher marks, but has never really threatened. Toybox drops in grade and has experience here . The drop in trip is not ideal but could be too classy for these .
¼ pt win Toybox @ 9/1
