1.00It’s How we Roll is ultra consistent but so hard to win with and his only victory came off around this mark and trip two years ago , but has been placed in his last 3 runs , all at Bath , not beaten far by some in form types . He’s effective on the surface and while backing horses hard to win with is a direct route to the poor house , at the odds he’s a cracking ew bet as the fav Scherazade is unproven on the surface and on a stiff enough mark anyway and more of a danger is sundayinmay , a good 2nd here last time but up in trip.
½ pt ew It’s How we Roll @ 7/1
1.30 I was very much with the front running Largo Bay over C&D last time in a much deeper race and when he went clear in the straight I was counting my winnings , only to tie up and get nailed close home . He probably did too much too soon last time and compensation awaits .
¾ pt win Largo Bay @ 6/5
2.05 A very modest event and not one for a big punt as the vast majority of these have rotten win records and even recent Chelmsford City winner Puffin Island has a nasty 5 pound penalty to shoulder. Jaffathegaffa is losing supporters race by race as he remains so hard to win with and I’m splitting my stake on a couple who have been showing up well in better grade handicaps and as both are prominent racers, it’s often the place to be in this kind of race .
¼ pt ew Bbob Aluja @ 12/1 Mungo’s Quest @ 11/1 – why not , a small rev fc
2.40 Track regular Prince Rock is holding his form well despite the tough mark but the drop in trip wont help . With Brunel Charm and Clegane merely going through the motions of late with no encouragement and with the poorly handicapped Urtzi switching from tapeta, the coast is very much clear for recent C&D winner Smooth Spirit to follow up off just a pound higher .
¾ pt win Smooth Spirit @ 7/4
3.15 A tricky event as the fav is the consistent Algheeb, who goes handicapping on a fair mark switching from tapeta and having a first run for a new stable, but didn’t come cheap and despite the surface doubt and the 3 months absence , has to be considered . Fort Madox Brown is hard to catch right so I prefer a play on Sealed Offer , a C&d winner and also some decent efforts on turf of late .
1/2pt win Sealed Offer @ 7/2
Selected Catterick – good to firm on this undulating and sharp track
1.45 A tricky nursery for starters but Course winner Poppy Petal ran well for a long way behind I’m A Gambler at Hamilton on quick ground and enjoys a decent weight pull and this far more benign track in her favour .
½ pt win Poppy Petal @ 11/2

2.55 PREMIUM RACE
3.30 PREMIUM RACE
4.05 This will be a breeze in the park for 1/4 shot Nadein .
5.08 The consistent Genesius has obvious claims but the drop In trip and nudge up the weighs not ideal while the in form Iolani is likely to struggle off this mark and quicker circuit . G For Gabrial disappointed last time and maybe his hectic schedule has caught up with him so I’m with the back to form Chief Craftsman after a narrow defeat off around this mark and trip last time.
¼ pt win Chief Craftsman @ 9/1
Selected Windsor – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
4.50 The drying ground is very much against a trio who come here with good chances on paper in Hello Me, Joy choi and the penalised Coco Bear . The consistent Jessie Pye has run well enough at the trip, mark and track to merit a nice play at long odds .
½ pt ew Jessie Pye @ 14/1
5.25 Rose Barton was fancied to do well over C&D recently and ran a belter on the quick ground to be narrowly denied by Dubai Jewel, who went on to land a competitive maiden carrying a penalty . This looks quite a deep heat but still looks a solid fav .
½ pt win Rose Barton @ 11/8
6.25 PREMIUM RACE
6.55 Glen Esk goes for the 4 timer , and two of those wins came over C&D on quick ground but was all out to prevail last time so despite just a 2 pound penalty , the rise in grade could catch him out . Lady Reset is hard to knock and despite now being on a testing mark and probably more effective on a stiffer track , nice ew play .
¼ pt ew Lady Reset @ 7/1
7.25 Her Majesty’s Tynwald is 2 from 2 , both wins were at the very different track of Bath and not on a generous mark on his handicap debut . Preference is for the consistent Noble Masquerade , a good 2nd off around this mark and trip at York , and that form could be good enough .
¼ pt win Noble Masquerade @ 7/4
Selected Bangor- On -Dee, good ground on this flat and sharp track
5.00 Zafar did well on his first stat for the McCain stable , running on well to beat a short priced rival at this trip at Uttoxeter, so this C&D should be fine . The danger is the Nicky Henderson decent bumper horse in First Street , but may need the experience .
½ pt winZafar @ 11/4
5.35 This has a winnable look to it with War Sea, 2nd the last twice , nudged up the weights again and Authorizo a bit to prove after a pulled up last time and also dropping in trip . After a quick double, Shareef Star has found his new mark stiff, but has still acquitted himself well enough to be a factor in a winnable heat .
¼ pt win Shareef Star @ 6/1
6.35 The in form veteran Mr Mafia has more to do with a stiff 5 pounds penalty and Gangster , who stays longer than the mother-in-law, will find this sharp C&D unsuitable . Youngster Kabrit is 2 from2 over fences , both times winning as he pleased and the 5 pound penalty looks well within his capabilities .
¾ pt win Kabrit @ 7/4
7.05 The in form pair of Drumlee Watar and Catchmeifyoucan have every right to run big races again, but now on stiff marks and preference is for the in form and luckless Calum Gilhholey , who was clear a few runs ago when losing his saddle yards from the line , but has backed that up with another good run . At this trip and mark , has the edge .
¼ pt win Calum Gillholey @ 5/2
7.35 A wide open big field handicap but topweight Isthebaropen struggled to get home at this trip over C&D last time and a similar scenario likely tonight . Chances can be given to Simply Lovelah , Timetoroe, Sindarella , the consistent but hard to win with Jessica Rabbit and the in form shanandoa but the nod goes to the well handicapped Joie De Vivre , who ran very well after a wind op on the Newcastle tapeta and on her CV is a very good run at Kelso off a higher mark when finding the trip just too far after looking like dotting in , and this C&D should be ideal .
½ pt ew Joie De Vivre @ 9/1
