Today’s Trixie 3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Spanish Mission 2.25 @ 5/2
Golden Pal 3.35 @ 11/4
Evasive Power 4.20 @ 7/1
Selected Kempton – all weather – polytrack
1.30 Natasha a good 2nd over C&D and very likely to go one better
2.05 Mo’assess was always in control when winning over C&D on just his 2nd start and looks another solid fav .
½ pt double – Natasha @ 8/11 , Mo’assess 11/10
2.35 Mount Macey returns from a 4 months break but when last seen was a good 2nd over C&D , which could give him the edge over the market leaders switching from turf .
¼ pt win Mount Macey @ 7/2
3.10 Clear negatives against the majority of these and a chance is taken with the lightly raced Exceedingly Regal , a decent 4th on handicap debut at Wolver and chanced switching surface and down in the ratings .
¼ pt win Exceedingly Regal @ 5/1
3.45 This looks a match between the determined front running Toussarok , just 2 pounds higher for a smart win on turf against the very capable track specialist Quiet Breath , who is very much a hold up type . They’ve crossed swords over C&D before and the latter comes out a bit better at the weights, but the tip is likely to get his own way up front and may not have to go a strong gallop to maintain the advantage , leaving the hold up types with a mountain to climb .
¼ pt win Toussarok @ 3/1
4.20 The bold front running Bowman won very well at Lingfield , a race he was entitled to, but this much harder with a stiff penalty and also a drop In trip against front running specialists at the trip . The drop to this trip has certainly worked for the reliable Front running Evasive Power, proven at the track and comes here on the back of 2 good runs off around this mark on turf . Very tidy ew play in a winnable heat .
½ pt ew Evasive Power @ 7/1
4.50 A winnable finale with the fav Dual Identity switching from turf with a stiff penalty and up in trip . The capable Wimpole Hall ran well last time , is proven here and on a good mark . Could surprise .
¼ pt ew Wimpole Hall @ 8/1
Selected York – good ground on this flat and galloping track
1.50 PREMIUM RACE
2.25 Stradivarius has looked invincible in the last few seasons over staying trips, but cracks have been appearing of late and this usual win machine , has only won 1 of his last 5 . He is 4 from 4 at the track and has won this race for the last 2 years but I much prefer the Young Pretender to his throne in Spanish Mission , who’s been transformed by the move to Andy Balding’s stable and was a very smart winner of a Group 2 here beating a couple of very useful yardsticks . He’s a late player but no hoper The grand Visir is sure to try and lose these from the front , which wont happen , but will assure a good pace for the principals to aim at . The useful Trueshan would do very well to land this with his penalty and preference for soft ground .
¾ pt win Spanish Mission @ 5/2
3.00 Despite both Berkshire Shadow and Lusail carrying penalties , they look likely to fight out this Group 2 and preference for the former on this speed track .
¼ pt win Berkshire Shadow @ 7/2
3.35 The Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes and it will be run at a ferocious pace with track specialist Dakota Gold, who needs softer ground , the reliable Bedford Flyer , just out of this class, the out of form Que Amoro and the useful C&D specialist Winter Power all battling for early supremacy , and are drawn across the track, but could well be chasing the shadow of American raider Golden Pal , a right speedball , Dettori rides and for such a prestigious race and also travelling across The Herring Pond, the fitting of a tongue tie, could see an even better run . French filly Suesa showed her paces with a smart win at Goodwood in the mud, but drying ground wont suit while the talented , dependable and tough Dragon symbol . will give it a good go but likely to find the ground a bit quick and the C&D too speedy .
¾ pt win Golden Pal @ 11/4
4.40 PREMIUM RACE
5.10 A wide open finale and a case can be made for so many but Rifleman is with a top stable and hasn’t had many chances , but has run very well the last two races off around this mark and trip , and deserves a change of luck .
¼ pt ew Rifleman @ 10/1
Selected Musselburgh – good ground on this flat and galloping track
2.15 Looks very much a match and the odds on Aramaic brings the best form to the table, but it was on the all weather , but worth a dabble on Imperial Eight , good runs at this trip, ground and type of track .
¼ pt win Imperial Eight @ 10/3
2.50 Battyeford Boy sprung a right old shock in his first nursery , but won convincingly , but the stiff penalty , longer trip and switch to a speed track all concerns . Novak has shaped up pretty well in maidens . On a fair mark and longer trip a plus .
¼ pt win Novak @ 3/1
3.25 PREMIUM RACE
4.00 Plenty of pace on here but the likeable front running track specialist Gometra ginty has a stiff task with a hefty penalty and the worst of the draw. The in form Lion Tower will give it a good go from the front but now on a testing mark . When successful over C&D he just got the better of the consistent yet frustrating Danzan , this could be his day .
½ pt win Danzan @ 5/1
4.30 A very weak heat and the consistent Ex_Irish Basharat is the obvious pick and should justify the 700 mile round trip made by the small stable .
½ pt win Basharat @ 2/1
5.05 PREMIUM RACE
5.40 A wide open finale but the well handicapped How Bizarre did little wrong in his recent belated comeback spin , when as usual front rank throughout and keeping on well and a switch to this C&D in his favour.
¼ pt win How Bizarre @ 6/1
Selected Newcastle – all weather – tapeta , the track is stiff and galloping
4.55 The only one of these proven at the trip is Summer Power , and ran well at Beverley and certainly wasn’t stopping and has been generously dropped 3 pounds . He’s also familiar with the surface.
½ pt win Summer Power @ 13/2
5.35 A typically open low grade Newcastle handicap but dual course winner Castle Quarter ran very well in his first try at this trip last time , which could open a few new doors for him . One of the owners is a very good friend of mine who expect a good run .
¼ pt ew Castle Quarter @ 9/1
7.37 The hat-trick could well be on for Gleniffer , a good winner over C&D last time, but measly odds so prefer a play on the capable Hurstwood , who goes well here and will be finishing to effect.
¼ pt ew HUrstwood @ 9/1
8.37 The short priced fav in this winnable event is the maiden Crocodile Power , who’s been placed in his last 2 runs at Wolver at this trip, buy up in the ratings and this stiffer track is a question mark , and is already looking hard to win with . Oriental Lilly has dropped her guard of late but this 5 times track winner is down in the ratings and grade and worth a dabble .
¼ pt ew Oriental Lilly @ 10/1
Selected Salisbury – good to firm on this undulating, galloping and stiff track .
5.23 Bolly Bullet is 2 from 2 here and no penalty for a recent success and as the chief dangers in Fitzrovia and Pride of Hawridge are now on very testing marks and as the selection is partnered by Simon Walker in a race for amateur jockeys , the hat-trick looks well and truly on .
¾ pt win Bolly Bullet
5.53 This is a welcome drop in class for the useful The Organiser and should make no mistake , but is odds on .
7.23 Tricky stuff bit recent Newmarket winner Mark of Respect can follow up on a 4 pound higher mark in this lesser heat .
¼ pt win Mark of Respect @ 5/1
7.53 It’s hard ruling anything entirely out but the late playing Systematic stays this trip well , is rarely far away and nice mark and grade .
¼ pt win Systematic @ 9/1
