3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Dancing King 2.10 @ 4/1
Sadmah 2.45 @ 3/1
Chapmanshype 3.30 @ 11/1
Selected Sandown – currently good ground on this stiff and galloping track, but could soften a bit
1.00All of Buy Me Back , Saaheq, likely front runner Vandad , but now on a stiff mark, Spring Bloom and Phoenix Star are all reliable types and all closely matched over C&D , but with Ehrmann pushing the pace along and maybe a bit of juice in the ground , the strong finishing C&d winner Phoenix Star can defy the recent penalty .
¼ pt ew Phoenix Star @ 7/1
2.05 The odds on fav is Her Majesty’s Reach For The Moon who has the best form in the book but plenty of his rivals are lightly raced and open to a great deal of improvement. Irish raider Rerouting won nicely on debut , and they haven’t come all this way for the scenery . Worth a dabble at long odds .
¼ pt ew Rerouting @ 20/1
2.40 The three fillies with clearly the best chances at the ratings in Maamora, Indigo Girl and Saffron Beach all come here under a cloud after some below par runs . Auria impressed when winning over C&D last time but the nod goes to recent Haydock winner Waliyak , victorious on soft ground , and Jack Mitchell is 2 from 2 aboard .
¼ pt win Waliyak @ 4/1
3.15 The lightly raced and highly promising Poet Of Life is the short priced fav in his first handicap and could well be ahead of the game but preference in a field full of early pace is the late playing C&D winner Pivoine .
¼ pt ew Pivoine @ 9/1
3.45 The short priced fav is Silent Escape , but the 5 pound hit for coming only 2nd wont help . The front running Eminent Hipster is rarely far away , this stiff C&D should suit really well and if the rain gets into the ground so much the better .
¼ pt win Eminent Hipster @ 5/1
Selected Chester – currently good ground on this flat and sharp track . Raining currently and going could well ease .
1.40 PREMIUM RACE
2.10 Morando , who has a good record here and Deja are both the ones to beat at the ratings but neither are shaping like winners about to happen . Youngster Dancing King landed a 4 timer earlier in the season and hasn’t been disgraced in hot company since . He’s tactically versatile and wouldn’t be surprised if top track jockey Fran Norton attempted an all the way win , and capable of doing so .
½ pt win Dancing King @ 4/1
2.45 They will be flying from the stalls in this Class 2 event for 2 yos which may give the edge to the well drawn Sadmah , whose level of form is well good enough to land this and can win coming off the pace .
½ pt win Sadmah @ 3/1
3.20 With both King Of Stars and Look Out Louis now non runners , the front running Jabberockie must now be of serious interest as the two defectors were better drawn and also likely to try all the way wins . He’s not well drawn but is the most likely pacesetter. He’s 1 from 1 here , which came on good to soft , and could pinch this from the front .
1/4pt ew Jabberockie @ 10/1
3.50 tricky but assuming that the ground doesn’t go desperate , the well drawn Battran can overcome a 4 pound hit against rivals now on uncomfortably high marks .
¼ pt win Battran @ 11/4
4.20 Few of these have ever ventured this far which makes last year’s runner up Gabrial The One of interest , despite a lousy win record .
¼ pt ew Gabrial The One @
Selected York – currently good ground on this flat and galloping track , but raining and ground likely to ease .
1.50 Real World has been awesome since switching to turf and is 2 from 2 on grass . He’s the one to beat in this ,but soft ground would be an issue , but few non runners suggest the ground hasn’t deteriorated , so far ! Comfortably the one to beat at the ratings and this C&d should be fine
½ pt win Real World @ 11/8
2.25 PREMIUM RACE
3.00 The classy Space Blues comes into this in good form and this C&D is ground versatile and a likely strong pace is ideal for this late player .
¾ pt win Space Blues @ 6/5
3.35 The richest handicap in Europe , £300,000 to the winner ! and of course plenty of big stables have strong contenders , and you can make a good case for practically everything . I’m with a smallish stable In Irish raider Shanroe, a useful dual purpose prolific type , likely to appreciate this C&D and a nice longshot .
¼ p tew Shanroe @ 20/1
4.10 PREMIUM RACE
4.45 PREMIUM RACE
5.20 The finale of yet another wonderful feast of racing as The Ebor meeting comes to a close with a competitive sprint for apprentices and they wont be hanging around with a stack of early pace which will help the consistent A Pint Of Bear , still on a workable mark , wont mind an ease in the ground , and goes front rank and sees the trip out really well . Another positive is that he’s partnered by Kieran Shoemark , who’s rode him well last time .
½ pt ew A pint Of Bear @ 6/1
Selected Newton Abbot , probably good ground on this flat and sharp track ,again keep an eye on the weather
3.30 Literale C put sone poor displays behind him when making his annual pilgrimage to Galway , hitting the frame in a massive field at long odds , but this C&D and Galway are like chalk and cheese and despite being a C&d winner , he’s giving the impression that nowadays needs a stiffer test of stamina. Despite winning first time over fences the useful Chapmanshype , hasn’t looked a natural in two subsequent tries over the larger obstacles and no surprise he’s back over timber and on the same mark when winning at Kelso at this trip. Big odds for his chance .
½ pt win Chapmanshype @ 11/1
4.05 The much improved Diligent returns from a break on a workable mark and has to be considered but I’m with a longshot in Rizzardo, down to a good mark and arguably this is this prominent racer’s best trip and kind of track.
¼ pt ew Rizzardo @ 20/1
4.40 The hat-trick seeking novice Captain Ivan is on a fair mark in his first handicap , but longer trip could test . Cremant appreciated the switch back to hurdles last time at around this trip and mark and wont be far away in this .
¼ pt win Cremant @ 9/2
5.15 The front running Rooster Cogburn scooted in last time at Market Rasen but up in grade and a hefty 8 pound hit and has a shocking record going left handed . Tikkinthebox has improved much of late and has held his form very well despite the stiff mark . He runs this track very well and nice odds in a tricky heat as both the back to form Dogon and Casa Tall are not out of this .
1/4 pt win Tikkinthebox @ 9/2
5.50 The front running Ragamuffin has only a small penalty for a gutsy win at Uttoxeter but at the ratings , recent 2nd Bright Destination looks to have the edge .
¼ pt win Bright Destination @ 4/1
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
5.05 Most of these are exposed as moderate and a trio of 3 yos make the most appeal , but Night Eagle is badly drawn , high enough in the ratings and only try on polytrack not good . The lightly raced Jerrais sluice in at Wolver In his first handicap and could well be up to the switch in surface and stiff penalty . Blazer Two has run some Ok races off this mark , trip and surface to make him of interest at long odds.
¼ pt ew Blazer Two @ 12/1
7.50 A winnable finale and despite being high enough in the weights , C&D winner Creek Harbour is well drawn for a front runner and could take a bit of catching .
¼ pt win Creek Harbour @ 7/2
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
6.30 The odds on fav is recent Windsor winner Femme Friendly , which came on easy ground . Her draw could have been kinder and not obviously bred for the surface . In a modest maiden , longshot Boadicea Belle is worth a little dabble to upstage the fav after two runs not devoid of promise including one of C&D .
¼ pt ew Boadicea Belle @ 33/1
7.00 A competitive good quality nursery but the fav , Ernie’s Valentine was all out to prevail last time at Kempton , is 4 pounds higher for his trouble and the placed horses have done little for the form. The hat-trick seeking Manhattanvile had the run of the race when leading al the way over C&D ,but unlikely to have that luxury with other prominent racers and from the worst of the draw , despite the small field, the draw does have a bearing here . After disappointing a few times on turf , El Haddeyah looked good winning easily at this trip at Lingfield given a prominent ride and from a good draw and mark , looks a nice play at good odds .
½ pt win El Haddeyah @ 6/1
8.00 A valuable Class 2 handicap, but pretty uncompetitive . The classy Bedouin’s Story hasn’t been at his best of late , but this is easier , well drawn , and hard to rule out and is preferred to Jumeira Bay, a C&D winner recently off a lower mark , and despite a good 3rd last time , is a bit too in and out for my liking . I give the nod to Karibana, 3 fairly lifeless efforts on turf in hot handicaps but within them a cracking win over C&D off just a 2 pound lower mark , beating some very useful yardsticks.
¼ pt win Karibana @ 5/1
8.30 This will take little winning and the handicapper has given a chance to Lafan , who runs in famous colours for a top stable and hasn’t progressed from some early promise , but he’s lost his landing gear, which could be to his benefit and chanced despite the wide draw.
¼ pt win Lafan @ 11/2
