Today’s Hexham Trixie
3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Sheriff Garrett 5.45 @ 9/1
Metodtomadness 6.15 @ 3/1
Classical Milano 7.15 @ 5/1
Selected Ripon – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
2.00 I have a share in Qwicken who started her career in remarkable fashion with a brilliant 2nd in the mud at Thirsk , and the gambled on winner Choux, has since landed a valuable Listed event in France running to a level of 95 , so her mark of 65 is certainly workable , but after that excellent debut run she was only an OK 4th at Carlisle and last time struggled badly on fast ground and the Ponty undulations . She doesn’t have ideal conditions today as she needs soft ground and a longer trip so today is probably just an exercise to blow away the cobwebs returning from a 2 months break . Her day will come but probably not today , but have to remain loyal .

3.40 The only certainty here is that it will be run at a ferocious pace with all of Saisons D’or, Bankawi and Antagonise sure to scoot off and available Angel likely to push the pace along too . As Antagonise stays very well he’s the most likely of the front runners to be able to sustain his run and the others in the field hard to fancy .
¼ pt win Antagonise @ 9/4
4.15 The front running Teescomponentsfly is holding his form well and the drop into Class 6 can only help and despite being 2 pounds above his last winning mark , should get away with it in a winnable finale .
¼ pt win Teescomponentsfly @ 11/4
Selected Epsom – good ground on this undulating , tricky and sharp track
2.50 Kimifive showed little on his first start for his new stable last time and the drop in trip can’t help . Hard picking between Evasive power , Recon Mission and Spring Bloom but the former is a C&D winner who has run well off this new mark.
¼ pt win Evasive Power @ 5/1
4.00 The fav is the lightly raced and recent winner Hey Teacher , but both Nicks not wonder and eton Blue will also want to front run , not ideal scenario for fav backers . Angels Roc is a consistent soul giving the impression this longer trip will be of benefit .
¼ pt win Angels Roc @ 13/2
4.35 Many of these are having great difficulty getting their noses in front the exception being Arenas Del Tiempo , who recently landed a front running double , one of those coming at Brighton , so this C&D will suit . Not so good at all last time and impossible to know whether it was the hefty penalty or the softer ground which resulted in the much lesser run . The lightly raced Fascinating Shadow did well at Brighton last time in his first handicap and in higher grade . Could be too good for these .
½ pt win Fascinating Shadow @ 8/1
5.05 PREMIUM RACE
No Epsom placepot
Selected Newton Abbot – good to firm on this flat and sharp track
5.30 The prolific and progressive Chez Hans goes for the 6 timer , 4 of those wins coming here but this is certainly his biggest ask yet off an increasing mark and all 3 rivals come here in good form . State Crown broke his duck with a good all the way win over C&D and off just a 2 pound higher mark has prospects of causing a mini shock .
¼ pt win State Crown @ 7/1
6.00 PREMIUM RACE
6.30 Looks very much a match between the in form pair of Sizing Cusimano and Delight Of Dawn , both prominent racers , both will like the ground but on his mark and also being proven at the track , the latter gets the nod .
¼ pt win Delight Of Dawn @ 2/1
7.00 Despite the bg field few catch the eye and I’m trying the well handicapped Grey flint , whose best run came over C&D when taking a last flight fall when looking booked for 3rd and a massive 8 pounds lower today . Consistency not his forte but runs for a top stable and worth a dabble .
¼ pt ew Grey Flint @ 12/1
Newton Abbot placepot
Selected Hexham – good ground on this undulating , galloping and very stiff track
5.15 The ex-Irish Captain Cobajay is certainly back in the groove and comes here on a hat-trick but of more concern than the 7 pound hit is the switch to a stiff track . First Revolution goes well here and is consistent , yet to win, this could be his day .
¼ pt win First Revolution @ 3/1
5.45 Track specialist Sherrif Garrett turned in a career best run 2 starts back over C&D when switching to front running and lost little in defeat next time at Cartmel off this mark in a competitive heat around a circuit which wouldn’t play into his strengths . Long odds in a winnable heat if ready to go after a few months off .
½ pt win Sheriff Garrett @ 9/1
6.15 The fav is the consistent No No Maestro , but the penalty and drop in trip wont help . C&D winner Methodtomadness struggled last time but the new mark is workable on old form around here .
½ pt win Methodtomadness @ 3/1
6.45 This looks very good for the front running C&D winner Sea Prince , only 3 pounds higher and this is weak .
¾ pt win Sea Prince @ 6/5
7.15 Classical Milano took full advantage of a big drop in the ratings to sluice in last time and worth trying again despite the penalty as he’s won off higher marks than this .
½ pt win Classical Milano @ 5/1
7.45 The bang in form For Jim , 3 wins in his last 4, goes very well here but so does veteran Ever So Much and despite a poor run last time , his profile reveals that poor runs not rare and often bounces back with a big one .
¼ pt ew Ever So Much @ 10/1
