It’s a stellar card at Leopardstown , but the racing is wide open and I haven’t found anything that stands out as a good bet , so well happy just to watch .
Selected Donny- good to soft on this flat and galloping track
1.15 It looks a match but La Pulga is proven at the trip and holds has an 8 pound pull for a narrow defeat behind Fall Of Rome and that should be enough .
¼ pt win La Pulga @ 11/8
1.45 PREMIUM RACE
2.20 The group 2 Champagne Stakes for 2yos and the odds on fav is Her Majesty’s Reach for the moon , who brings a high level of form to the table and crucially receives weight from Gimcrack winner Lusail , but this will be close and the tip is certainly overpriced .
¼ pt win Lusail @ 11/4
3.35 The St Leger and the odds on fav is the prolific and very classy Hurricane Lane , whose only defeat in 6 starts was a 3rd in the Epsom Derby , but lost both shoes in that race and since then has taken his form to a new level , running to levels in excess of his lofty 120 mark landing 2 Group 1’s on contrasting ground . He goes up in trip but the dame was a useful 2 mile stayer , especially in the mud . He has plenty in hand over this field at the ratings and looks a good one for the big rollers out there .
¾ pt win Hurricane Lane @ 5/6
4.05 A tricky event but with a good pace assured , this may just drop right for the consistent and useful Dark Jedi , despite a nudge up the weights for another big run last time , ground versatile
1/4pt win Dark Jedi @ 10/3
Selected Chester – soft ground on this flat and sharp track
2.00 At the ratings this is very much a match between last year’s winner alignak and the useful and in form Alounak, who is a real mud lover . Last year’s winner makes a belated reappearance so with fitness assured , the tip gets the vote .
½ pt win Alounak @ 13/8
2.35 PREMIUM RACE
3.10 PREMIUM RACE
4.25 PREMIUM RACE
4.55 A very open finale but the back to form Bay Of Naples has a nice draw , is proven over C&D on the ground and remains on a workable mark .
¼ pt ew Bay Of Naples @ 9/1
Today’s multi – The Bath Bookie Buster
3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Madame Ambassador 2.05 @ 3/1
Pastfact 3.20 @ 10/3
Vandad 4.30 @ 10/3
Selected Bath – firm ground on this sharp but stiff track
First and foremost a big hello to 4 very close and special friends of mine , Jayne, Richard , Rob & Suzanna , who have travelled from windy Crosby to enjoy a day’s racing in hopefully Sunny Somerset. With a combination of their fine judgement and a little bit of help from The Racehorsetipster , they expect to take the Bath Bookies to the cleaners , while enjoying a splendid time , eating , drinking and making merry .
1.35 tricky stuff , hard to fancy the ex- Irish Hyde Park Barracks and while the lightly raced Strike is unexposed and could just take to handicapping on quick ground , but all of the evidence points to a close run thing between the in form pair of Kate’s Toyboy and Youllovemewheniwin and at the weights, the former gets the vote .
¼ pt win Kate’s Toyboy @ 7/4
2.05 Not a deep nursery and the fav is recent surprise Kempton winner Mr professor , but did win with ease . He could be up to the hefty 7 pound hit but faces very different conditions today , fast turf and a very different track. The consistent Madame Ambassador has run two very big races since going handicapping and after a cosy win at Nottingham , lost nothing in defeat at Salisbury ,off this mark , behind Tribal Chief , who has won since with a penalty . This C&d should suit this prominent racer based on that good Salisbury run , but this is the quickest ground she’s ever faced.
½ pt win Madame Ambassador @ 3/1
2.40 It’ll be the shock of the day if 1/4 shot Choirmaster fails to oblige .
3.20 C&D specialist Pastifact has responded well to the drop in the ratings with a good win , again over C&d , backed up by a most solid close 3rd at Chepstow . Sees the trip out really well and expect a prominent ride from a good draw by the apprentice who rides him very well . Both Glamorous Force and Atyaaf are effective here but uncomfortably high in the ratings .
½ pt win Pastifact @10/3
3.55 Accrington Stanley is rarely far away but is 0 from 19 and unlikely to break his duck today , he ran a bath yesterday and came 2nd ! . Street Kid is unlikely to feature on the ground and trip and this looks close to call between the in form pair of Tasfeq and Commonsensical, both C&D winners, both like quick ground , both on good marks, so hard to split but at the odds, the latter gets the vote .
¼ pt win Commonsensical @ 7/2
4.30 The only certainty here is the revived Vandad will go off like the clappers and sluiced home at Brighton on quick turf , but off a massive 8 pound lower mark , but doubled up at Lingfield , beating a couple of useful yardsticks but last time the bubble burst at Sandown , but wasn’t ridden to advantage that day and back on quick turf could take some reeling in , especially in this winnable heat . The capable Ginger Jam can only ne watched presently after some tame efforts while both Nibras Again and Prince Of Rome are both on long losing runs . Smokey is far more effective on synthetics .
½ pt win Vandad
5.00 The Lucky Last , and if you’re trying to pick out the Fab 4, my illustrious friends , they’re the ones in the Champagne Bar , imbibing the most expensive bubbly available and lighting their cigars with £20 notes . There is an old saying in racing , to back the outsider of three , and this could come to fruition with the useful Nicks Not Wonder , a good 2nd over C&D recently up against a pair of capable younger horses who could well be tested off their marks , both up in grade .
1/ 2 pt win Nicks Not Wonder @ 10/3
Selected Lingfield – all weather – polytrack
3.40 Mekong is still rated a lofty 108 despite not getting anywhere that mark in 3 runs early in the season and returns from a break with little hope, Fancy Man is the class act of the race , well worth his 109 rating , but he’s up in trip and first ever run on synthetics . Bugle Major showed much improved form up to this trip on turf and as he’s proven on the surface , gets the nod for the upset .
¼ pt win Bugle Major @ 8/1
4.10 The consistent Bobby Kennedy returns from a lengthy break off a career high mark and new to the surface , so happy to watch him while the hat-trick seeking lightly raced Wadacre Gogo has a stiff 5 pound penalty and switches from tapeta. After a clear win in the Windsor mud , the lightly raced knight of Kings did little wrong here last time off this mark and this slightly longer trip should suit . Jarrais shaped up well here last time off this mark, hinting that the big step up in trip could suit .
½ pt win Knight Of Kings @ 11/2
4.45 Despite the wide draw, this should still be a comfortable win for the front running Yorkindness , proven at the trip and surface .
½ pt win Yorkindness @ 4/5
5.20 When last seen over C&D Brains ran a stormer in much higher grade , going a terrific gallop early on , but tied up In the closing stages . He was rated much higher this time last year and a repeat would surely see the field chasing shadows but we go back 18 months to his last win . Byzantia is a consistent sort and despite the wide draw makes plenty of each way appeal , no issues with mark, trip or track .
¼ pt ew Byzantia @ 8/1
5.50 The bang in form Vittaline made all for an easy win at Kempton last time but up in grade , up 9 pounds and from the worst of the draw looks there for the taking . The well drawn and consistent Glasvegas has held his form well despite being a few pounds high in the ratings , and this looks a clear opportunity .
½ pt win Glasvegas @ 7/2
6.25 Tomouth was gifted a win over C&D a few starts back when allowed a soft lead , and wont have that luxury this evening with the free going and well drawn La Senszine , who has a bit to prove down in trip and Tomouth was well held off this mark last time . Al Saariyah landed a win at Windsor recently and is effective over C&D . 3 pounds higher but still makes most appeal in a winnable finale .
½ pt win Al Saariyah @ 4/1
Been right through a very trappy Musselburgh card and I haven’t found anything worth playing
