3 £1 doubles & £1 ew treble
Innse Gall 4.40 @ 11/4
Royal Village 3.55 @ 9/2
The Attorney 5.24 @ 7/2
Selected Haydock – good to firm on this flat and galloping track
1.00Preference is for the expensive Smiling Jayne after a good run on debut on quick ground over C&D .
¼ pt win Smiling Jayne @ 15/8
1.30 Looks very much a match and hard to separate the in form pair of Educator and Savvy Victory , another expensive purchase, who gets the nod at the odds .
¼ pt win Savvy Victory @ 11/4
2.05 A red hot small field Class 2 handicap and hard to rule out anything but the progressive Cruyff Turn could take some catching if switching back to front running tactics after an unlucky run last time when ridden patiently .
¼ pt win Cruyff Turn @ 4/1
2.40 There was little between Jawwaal , Copper Knight and Mondammej over C&D recently on quick ground and the latter came out on top , in such style from the back, that he gets the nod for the double with only a small penalty .
¼ pt win Mondammej @ 9/2
3.15 PREMIUM RACE
3.50 PREMIUM RACE
Selected Newmarket – good to firm on this undulating , galloping and stiff track
1.15 Oheka didn’t come cheap and did well enough on debut , over this C&D on quick ground and looks a very solid fav .
½ pt win Oheka @ 10/11
1.50 Godolphin has plenty of useful juveniles to pick from and their pick in this Group 2 is Corebus , who was mightily impressive on debut winning here on the July course when heavily backed . Maskela brings proven Group form to the table and has clear claims as the progressive Royal Patronage is another with Group form in the book but faster ground could be the issue .
½ pt win Coroebus @ 9/4
2.25 A group 1 for juvenile fillies and the fav is the Irish raider , a perfect 4 from 4 who romped home in a Group 3 last time and this C&D and ground should suit , but trainer Ger Lyons hasn’t hit the mark frequently crossing The Irish Sea. The marvellously consistent Sandrine lost her unbeaten record last time in a York Group 2 , when the 4 timer was foiled when only failing to give 3 pounds to the 4 timer seeking Zain Claudette , but off level terms today should gain revenge , but he conqueror is entitled to utmost respect . Sandrine gets the nod .
¼ pt win Sandrine @ 10/3
3.00 A Group 1 for juvenile colts and with such little early pace, the strong front running Go Bears Go, could have the run of the race up front and is a dangerous opponent to give away too much ground . He was a beaten short priced fav by Dr Zempf last time , and previously had him behind , so a bit of a mystifying run . The fav is the classy Perfect Power who could well land another win but the tip’s race make up is the deciding factor .
¼ pt win Go Bears Go @ 11/2
3.40 The Cambridgeshire and with so many front runners, the ground must have really firmed up . Very often this race is a stepping stone and many winners have gone on to be successful in higher grade , running around a stone better than their winning mark in this, so the way to go is to find an unexposed one who likes fast ground , likely to act over this C&D , goes with the pace and drawn high , and the prolific Anwaat ticks all of those boxes and despite being a plunge horse and is now a pretty short fav , could make a mockery of this . Another that ticks many boxes is Uncle Bryn , but the fast ground is an issue . The well treated Bedouin’s Story looks the best of the longshots.
½ pt ew Ammat @ 9/2
5.24 The consistent Attorney did little wrong when a close 2nd over C&D last time out on quick ground with a useful one way back in 3rd . He has a lot less to prove than most in this winnable heat.
½ pt win The Attorney @ 7/2
No advice for Ireland today
Selected Chester – good to firm on this flat and sharp track where low numbers in the draw and front running are advantages
2.00 The consistent Mahagoni arguably was entitled to do better last time and is looking hard to win with and again it’s arguable whether an inexperienced 7 pound claimer will help . Bolton Abbey returns from a break , but has decent form and a win at Brighton on quick turf suggests today’s conditions and track will suit .Point Lynas is another consistent yet frustrating type and unlikely this sharp C&d will help, especially from a poor draw.
¼ pt win Bolton Abbey @ 3/1
2.35 the front running Ffion is rarely far away and has the plum draw to notch an overdue and deserved win . the drop back in trip will suit as she was looking good for the win here last time until weakening late on . The fav is the lightly raced and progressive Mossbawn , who had to work hard to prevail last time off a lower mark but is more of a threat than Muntadab , who somehow managed to lead up from a wide draw here last time , set sedate fractions and kick off the front and that’s unlikely today .
½ pt win Ffion @ 5/2
3.10 Flaming Rib is a terrific 2yo and this prominent racer battled back to land a big field nursery at York. He’s well drawn to attack and in this field could well get away with the stiff 6 pound penalty . Straits Of moyle is certainly on the up but the 9 pound hit and wide draw ask questions .
½ pt win Flaming Rib @ 2/1
3.45 This has a most winnable look to it and with plenty of early pace on this will suit the late playing dual C&d winner Barryshnikov , still on a good mark and in smart form.
¾ pt win Barryshnikov @ 9/4
4.55 Bookmark has seriously taken off of late , very much appreciating this longer trip. He was most impressive winning over C&D last time when giving the rest a big start and picked them up effortlessly in the style making the 6 pound hit well manageable .
½ pt win Bookmark @ 2/1
Selected Market Rasen – good ground on this mostly flat and sharp track .
2.10 The hat-trick seeking Dazzling glory only brings modest form to the table and returns from a 5 months break and this C&d unlikely to suit . Clear preference is for recent Worcester winner Mulberry Hill , who brings much stronger form to the table with the drop in trip no issue .
¾ pt win Mulberry Hill @ 11/8
2.45 The odds on fav for this Class 2 juvenile hurdle is the hat-trick seeking Caramelised , who brings the strongest form to the table but I prefer the chance of Irish raider Whyzzat, whose form compares favourably with the fav and the stable is 1 from 1 here !
½ pt win Whyzzat @ 4/1
3.20 This will take little winner and the back to form More Bucks will welcome a return to this track , ground and trip . Looks most solid ew .
½ pt ew More Bucks @ 6/1
3.55 This is highly winnable with the short priced fav Flamboyant Joyaux up sharply In the ratings and grade . Preference is for recent C&d winner Royal Village , who was lucky to collect that day , but was still running a very good race until the leader lost his jockey at the final fence and comes here on the back of a creditable effort at Worcester , not far behind some useful types .
½ pt win Royal Village @ 9/2
4.30 A highly competitive and good quality Class 2 hurdle and there’ll be no hanging around with the very useful and tough Hang In There sure to go out hard as is caius Maximius. Hang in There was magnificent in defeat over this C&D In the Summer Hurdle but Valentino Dancer is 5 pounds better off for beaten a neck, which should be enough for this one who had a recent sharpener on the flat .
½ pt win Valentino Dancer @ 7/2
5.00 The question is can the 10 pound hit stop recent facile C&D winner Near Kettering and against exposed types and at nice odds, worth paying to find out.
1/2pt win Near Kettering @ 5/1
Market Rasen placepot
Selected Ripon – good ground on this undulating and sharp track
2.20 Raydoun is a bit in and out but has the best form at the trip and ground on speed tracks.
¼ pt win Raydoun @ 13/2
3.30 PREMIUM RACE
4.05 PREMIUM RACE
4.40 The drop in trip and the penalty wont help Dreams unwind and against modest opposition , the in form Innse Gail looks ready to take another step forward , no issues with trip , track , ground or mark .
½ pt win Innse Gail @ 11/4
5.15 She’s making a bit of a meal shedding her maiden tag but this should be the tip’s day against modest opposition . Expect an all the way big run .
½ pt win Artemesia Lomi @ 5/6
Selected Chelmsford City – all weather – polytrack
5.05 Certainly more quantity than quality in this low grade handicap but after trying to make all over C&d last time and not beaten far at all in a far better race , compensation awaits for the tip.
½ pt win Queen Of Burgundy @ 11/4
6.00 Youngster Jenson Benson was a smart winner here last time and this longer trip should suit and every chance of defying the 4 pound hit with the majority if the field hard to win with .
¼ pt win Jensen Benson @ 11/4
7.00 A fascinating Class 2 sprint which looks very much a match between a pair of useful sprinters in track specialist May sonic and the back to form Roulston Scar . A great race for the headless ones so one must win and they are 5/4 joints, but it’s very much a toss up .
7.30 Nigel Nott rarely runs a bad one around here and this big drop in grade should see him back in the Winners’ Circle .
1/2 pt win Nigel Nott @ 5/2
8.00 Very tough to call with a handful of young and progressive stayers .
8.30 La Roca Del fuego is red hot presently but the combination of the hefty 6 pound hit and the drop in trip gives him a vulnerable look. Toplight backed up a recent win with a solid 2nd over C&d and this well drawn late player has a good race make up with so much early pace in the contest .
¼ pt win Toplight @ 4/1
